ok, here's the confusion: posted by the Sec Ops Detachment Leader. Seems like they are climing the HWT, which is fine by me, however the current CRL disagrees with his statement. so which is it? i'm seeing three different answers everywhere.

well they wouldn't be the same tutorials i dont think. im also not sure WHERE the idea form the HWT comes from except from Thomas. ive never seen one in a film nor in a comic. can anyone show us where they come from. and last i checked comics dont count, but i could be very wrong.

not to be off topic, but can the 501st panel actually be about then 501st this year and less about the individuals and why they joined? would be awesome to see a power point plus narration about what we as a group have accomplished, or even better a showing of Hearts of the Empire i know about 25 people that walked out of the panel last year as it was not interesting and bored even them. please dont take offense, just an observation.

i was told by several people that the HWT has been a TX since 2006. i'm guessing it stopped being a TD at that time. at the moment it belongs to the Special Operations detachment, who recently submitted the CRL for the costume. but like Daetrin said, the FISD will be taking it under their wing. I'm assuming it will remain a TX.

looking good. another solution to the straps is leather. i used 1/4" leather, and dyed it white and riveted it in place. looks great and will never break! was under a dollar ($1.00USD) to make. the only other advice i have is to take a green scotchbrite pad to the helmet and armor. it will kill the glossy look, and make it look AWESOME! you're joining in the garrison i was first a part of and an honorary member for a while. do them proud!

...wow. my eyes hurt after reading all that. I can't believe people are still "info hoarding" at this point in the game. The MEPD is way better than that. my feelings aside, I'm pretty sure you all are beating a dead horse at this point. I do not want to see this turn into a flame war. please take this to PM's.

I'm not sure who you are talking about, nor do i really care WHO it/they are. I've gotten enough flack from CT.net abtou various things to drive sane people into confusion. however, art, Don't forget, you have some of the best Sandies right here in AZ. come on down from lofty Kingman and pay us a visit. Tristan or Kevin or Steve might have the parts you are looking for. we've recently helped a few people finish their costumes in an afternoon. PM me if you're interested. would like to get opinions and or suggestions on what we here in the MEPD could do to improve the visual aspect of our website, forum. not saying WHAT to put in the forum but more of a How would you want it to function. Index page, members page, deployed page, etc. also, any graphics you might want to see added etc, background suggestions, etc. just trying to get ideas together to present to a possible webmaster for a redesign. one of the key things i wanted to see, if possible was a high res pic of a sandy, and possibly do a 360 controlled view of him, and if you clicked on certain parts, maybe a little box coudl open and say what the part is, and what its for, etc.

well, i actually know someone whos worn a lucasfilm suit at lucasfilm ranch while he was an intern there one summer. that said however. he said he doesnt remember how it all went on. a few people put it on him, and re remembers it being uncomfortable and unable to move well for the filming stuff he did. not sure what ot was for. i'm thinking both versions are correct. can anyone confirm in the movies that they can see straps going horizontal around the biceps?

looks good. however, i can't tell, but are those green bubble lenses? you'd need to have flat ones. pretty easy to pick up some material for that. a green face shield from a welding supply, firematics supply or lowes/Home Depot will do nicely.
