  1. Nice! I saved my hard plastic PVC RS guards to mold into flexible if needed. I ended up getting Karin's, but the theory was that I could pour the latex into the back of the RS guard then pull it out and have a flexy handguard. Not sure if other makers supply hard ones that are accurate enough you could do that with or not.
  2. This is one of those things I would like to do for accuracy sake, but for trooping sake, it just makes more sense for me to use my TK Boots. The general public is not going to get why you have cracking and flaking paint on your shoes, they are going to think you are just lazy. Not to mention its much less stressful on you to not have to repaint your shoes all the time. (my real latex handguards for my hero/stunt TK have to get repainted about every other wearing, which is why i went with Karin's white rubber for my sandy, did not want to go all out to weather the things jsut to have to paint over it and weather it again....) Still, I like to see it done for accuracy sake, but i'd keep those otheres for trooping in mate.
  3. A good start I say. Save the court costs, and jail expenses.
  4. Sure assuming I make it in. Technically the current runs are closed, but I was told to send my info in as they alway shave people drop out...
  5. Thanks all after polling my Garrison as well I decided to go with D on A. Thanks!
  6. This is for the 501 trading cards, I am going on the reserve list since they always have people drop out of the running.
  7. Maybe they could put me over top of the guys going into the bar... Those were the three backgrounds that I was able to choose that looked Star Warsy (as opposed to phantom Menace or Attack of the Clones)
  8. I am trying to decide which picture to go with on my Trading card. So I thought I would get my Brothers to help me out. So A: B: C: D: or E: Also planning on this back ground: A: Or this one: B: Though I do like this one if they can cut out 3PO: So whattaya Think? Thanks!
  9. Thanks guys, The ROTJ is actually my Centurion level over at FISD. (Second one ever woohoo ) So I do not really want to dirty him up, though there is certainly a precedent as the Endor Troopers were pretty weathered. I agree that the ROTJ looks pretty bad next to ANH (or ESB) but ROTJ holds a special place in my heart as it came along right at the time I could really appreciate it at the time (ANH and ESB I was really too young to get fully grasp then, it took rewatching to truely appreciate them). Once I decided to join the Legion and saw how underrepresented the ROTJ TKs were I knew I had to have one. It was actually a ton of work to get to fit my 6' 1" 230 pound frame as the molded in overlaps really make arms and legs a tough fit. Its not as easy as trimming the excess and poping a coverstrip over the join. I love it as a piece of history, but if I were to be honest then, yes he looks like the 'special" cousin to the ANH/ESB troopers All you need to do is look at the side by side pictures in the "what other costumes do you have" thread to see what I mean.
  10. heh I have all 4 original trilogy TKs as Legion costumes, my TD just got approved in March, and all I need for my ROTJ Vader is the leather suit and gloves that have been on order since January.... But then I am done...No Really....well... I do like Fett....and Biker Scouts.... Nah I don't see any problems here....(time for an intervention?)
  11. Thanks for the replies guys! I actually decided it was a crime to pack the TD away and packed my TM TK suit in my box and placed my TD on my Manny guarding the toy room with my CFO ROTJ TK and my (WIP) ROTJ DV: Thats an RS Stunt lid, TM Hero LId, and RS ESB lid lurking on the top shelf behind him there... The Stanley box easily holds my TM TK suit and all the extras with room to spare, Ill probably end up packing the TD armor in the box and wearing the pack next deployment, since if i leave the pack out I can get everything except the BFG in there.
  12. Troops like that are very rewarding. Cons and parades and such are fun, but its nice to see the joy in kids faces that otherwise would be in for yet another day at the hospital focusing on thier hurts not the fun in life. The best thing about suiting up is the happiness we bring to people wherever we go.
  13. Thanks Opi! Not to derail but im in the us and got my armor and 3 lids from RS with no issues.
  14. So my awesome wife bought me one of those 50 gallon Stanley mobile job boxes for my birthday! Question how do you all pack yours? I have a torso that is in one part, and I can put the backpack on the bottom the torso on top with the legs/arms inside it and close the lid, but I be there is a way to get the helmet and pauldron in there as well.... Any pics of how you arrange yours? Thanks!
  15. My second troop as a TD was to a local area children's hospital. Afterwords we went to a local landmark for a picture for LFL. I went Sans Backpack because the hospital was concerned I would bump into equipment. He was not too sure about us....I stood there and tried not to look toooooo threatening! Even the Staff got in on the action: We had to make sure they had no droids hiding on their system.... A few Local Citizens wanted to get in on the act:
  16. Looking good! You have paid a ton of attention to detail on this one, looks better than mine in my opinion
  17. My latex gusrds glued great with superglue. My white rubber from karin needed to be glued with silicone. Superglue would not hold them. Clear ge silicone worked great though. You CAN peel them off but they are not going to come off without help.
  18. Nice! Now the move along and stop that ship can be official!
  19. Good thing i never plan to at troop in freezing temps...my whole rig is e6000 held. Including the thigh elastic!
