  1. Just got off the phone with someone at State Bicycle Co. Customized my Bell Aire with red wheels instead of the teal. Can't wait to get it.

  2. Justin Boh and I are forming plans to make your life more awesome.

  3. I was rear ended yesterday evening and spent the rest of the night in the hospital getting my neck checked out. I'm ok, and so is our car. I got a prescription for painkiller and muscle relaxer if any of you guys want to party later. You'll have to bring your own neck brace though, because I didn't get to keep mine.

  4. Is that dark blue search bar messing with anyone else? I feel a need to delete my Facebook account because they made a small aesthetic change.

  5. A short film a few friends of mine created, and I got to work on the color grading and created the ending credits. I believe they are trying to get it screened at Comic Con. This is a prologue to a bigger story they have planned. One where, hopefully, they call on the 501st costuming skills.
  6. I got my ATA kit today. I'm going to try my hardest to be patient, one limb at a time, but my kid wants it to be done today. He did this himself and slid in. He's the perfect size for a jawa, but he's insisting on a Skywalker costume. --- I am here: http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=38.301646,-77.515659
  7. If you're interested in American politics from a rather right-wing perspective with a heavy dose of pith and common sense, consider reading this blog I'm honored to be a contributor for: http://politickingbomb.com

  8. A friend and coworker of mine in London creates these really awesome, unique pieces of art. I have the trooper, Vader, and Fett. Website: http://www.liambrazier.com/ Store: http://society6.com/liambrazier/prints
  9. Holy mother of crap! Check this video out: Demo of Sugru attaching to various materials:
  10. This stuff looks amazing, and perfect for mending, attaching, reinforcing, and modifying stuff. I can't wait to see what this community does with it. http://sugru.com/us/about
  11. We had some rain the last couple days, so I decided to take a shortcut through a construction yard. Easier than hairspray and fullers earth, but not as permanent.
  12. The hardest part of this build is explaining to my 5-year-old why his Kenner Sandtrooper action figure isn't a proper reference. Poor kid just wants to help, but I want to eventually get deployed. So of course, we watched A New Hope again and paused it every time we spotted a TD. That's his new favorite game.
  13. It's beautiful. Great work. I'm a big "fan" of the Facebook page as well.
  14. As she's describing how she wants the basement arranged for our holidays, I put the pauldron on her and hand her the helmet. She asks no questions, doesn't skip a beat, and continues talking. I married well.
  15. Scottlyn is an awesome name! Our little girl's name is Zoyenka. It's rare when she's not in costume.
  16. More Progress. Everyone on here makes this look so easy. Next up: paint, lenses, proper aerator tips, and of course, dirt.
  17. Hey all, my name is Levi (yes, like the pants). I live in northern VA, and work as a creative director for a video marketing startup. I'm a father of three little nerds, (currently ages 5, 3, and 1) I've always wanted to join the 501st, as a sandtrooper of course, but lacked the funds and time for a hobby. Times, they have changed, and despite raising a family, or maybe because of it, I'm leaping into the realm of costuming and model building. Our family project is building an R2 unit. I've been hovering in this forum for quite a while, gathering resources and planning my build. Thanks for all the amazing posts. All my questions have been answered so far via search, so I haven't had the need to post, but now it's time for me to come out of the shadows and introduce myself.
  18. I posted this image on Twitter this morning: The kids are as excited as I am to get this project going. They are already planning their Jawa and Luke/Leia costumes. We're taking a little break from our R2 build to work on the ATA bucket I just got. Don't have the armor yet, but this is a really great first step. Now I just need to explain to my 5-year-old why he can't use the dremel. I've been trolling this forum long enough, it's time I jumped in with both feet. Thanks to the amazing community here for providing all these resources. I'm in over my head, but confident.
