  1. Lars, looks great man. Nice start. Love the dewback idea and cowboy picture, funny. Love the name too (Lars), little pun intended...hehe. You are on your way man. Everyone here talked about some ideas to get it spot on. Your mic tips may need some straightening, but that depends on the trooper you are trying to do. If you are doing a generic sandtrooper, then you should be fine. Great details on the rivets in crotch area and right ab top. Do you have some detailed pics of the left side 6 rivets? Also might want to look at adding the 6 screws to the bottom return edges, if you want to go accurate. They are how the originals had the strapping, but no need to do the strapping that way, just add the small flat head screws. ROLF's SWAT post has some great pictures of those. Overall it is a great build and nice attention to detail. Keep the pictures coming brother. Man here to help and give advice. Now get some legs on, this is a 'G' rated post, lol.
  2. Vince, awesome job brother. The others het the light all the time, you looked great and did a great job representing. Nice job brother.
  3. You need to mount the bottom of the tube to the bottom section of the frame, not along the side section. It makes it angled.
  4. Steven, If you look at my SWAT thread you will see a section dealing with the placement of the dish and how low. It is for the road block Captain's pack. Also, in the backpack posts, Crashman talks about how to mount it. It isn't straight along the frame, it is offset at the bottom. I also weathered my caps, pad and dish. As well as the tube itself. Hope that helps. Good luck brother.
  5. Boss, This is a big deal. What is our Legion Leadership saying? Is anyone talking to Disney to see what they say? Like Juan said, this would be illegal (in the USA), so there must be something else going on. Does the Legion have a contact with them? A lot of unanswered questions that just don't make sense.
  6. And the newest one....Command Staff XO Juan. Man, this is the most awesome figure yet. I used 4 different figures to create this one. I gave him the high brow and stunt helmet from another figure, added the small medical/tool pouch on the shoulder pauldron MP-40 pouch, two accurate large 3 compartment ammo pouches on the hip, and a DLT-19 with brown butt and grip instead of the dewback prod that comes standard with the figure. A true 'Move Along' Captain figure. And if you look at the actual screen shot on the back compared to Juan's picture, then you know why he did one of the most amazing SWAT build ever. If you zoom in on the figure you can see the details. And the new MEPD card. Custom card #9 and custom UPC Code area on the bottom bubble with Juan's 501st enlist date and TD number. I need to make one of these for myself. Juan has also mailed his own New MEPD coin for the bubble, to be added on the next picture. Juan, sorry, but this one is my best work and too cool not to share, so please don't be upset...
  7. That's right clean boy, clean it up while I move along....This is what happens when TDs visit the Death Star. Awesome. Gordon, the other ones on his Flicker page are just as great. Thanks for sharing brothers.
  8. Looking good Oscar! Keep it up brother. Love the focus and great attitude too. I know it can wear you down, but you sound more excited and determined than before. Go Rosco.
  9. Rick, I can do them as well if needed. Someone may have a better price though I can do as many colors as we want and a lot of colors on the shirt or just white for $14-$25, depending on T-Shirt quality. 100% fine jersey cotton, unisex shirt, soft, medium weight and made from combed cotton for comfort. Gives a flattering and stylish fit to virtually any body type. Made in the USA.
  10. Brad, That is so awesome! I sat here drooling. Man you did a great job. And Dave, the gun weathering is impressive.
  11. Juan, What about this sir...I think I can get them in a pad of 50, you tear off. Now to find a MEPD Ticket Book....
  12. Rosco is a paining expert! Love that little guy. Great job with the details there brother. Keep them coming.
  13. I use the C3-PO and R2-D2 poster printed on clear acetate for a prop. The print is black and background clear, on a 5 X 7 inch or 8 X10 inch poster. I keep it in my backpack toolbox and then use it to ask people if they have seen these droids. I also compare the poster to any children I come across, it is funny to watch people's reactions. I also use a Han Solo one. I put that up to some guys face in the crowd, it makes everyone laugh and makes the guy feel like he is a hero. Kind of brings the whole crowd in (not just the cute girls). I get a lot of recruits that way too.
  14. Juan, I would love to do this for the group this week if nobody comes forward, or Jay's isn't what you were talking about. I can translate into English, since you have Spanish.
  15. AWESOME! Love the shot of Darth Vader talking to one of the troops and trying to capture the 'chair droid'. Missed you guys. Great representing of the MEPD and 66ers. Now go get some thermal gear....
  16. Frank, You are correct that the CRLs do not match screen accuracy sir. Like Juan said, you will need to get GML approval on a none screen accurate 'Move Along' bucket and then upgrade for SWAT. However, you will not need to change for deployment. As a group, you are rich that we need to update the CRLs. I believe the Command Staff is currently working on that. I didn't 'have' to change my count for SWAT, but thought it was the best thing to do and more screen accurate. @ Derek, I think that is a question for Command Staff. I am sure they will chime in.
  17. Oscar, Great attitude and glad you are keeping with it brother. Keep the pictures coming. We miss Rosco. LOL
  18. @ Brian, thank you brother, humbled to be a part of the group.
  19. Thank you team again. @ Daniel, we did it brother! 66ers all the way! @ Luis, thank you sir. I will send my SWAT picture to you soon. I know you always do them justice. Thank you for all the support. @ Vince, finally legal (#18), lol. Well worth it.
  20. Nick, Thank you sir. I truly appreciate that. I am in good company. @ Oscar, please thank Rosco for me. LOL.
  21. Thank you all! I appreciate the kind words. I can't even express how awesome this is. Just texted my son, who is in school and my biggest fan, and told him. Not sure who is more ecstatic, him or me. @Mike, THANK YOU! You have spent so much personal time on this and your shared words of wisdom. I appreciate all the feedback and ideas. You also kept me going and wouldn't let me stop. You also did such a great job slowing me down and being an honest true friend. I truly appreciate you being the one to help me look at things different and encourage me at the same time. You are my rock brother. - Mahalo Nui Loa @Rick, Thank you for all your leadership and keeping me calm sir. You have a terrific way of just putting me in my place and slowing things down, as they needed to be. I still love your question and keep pondering it today: "Do you feel you are 100% ready?" Simple question, but makes me think. I truly appreciate your leadership in the group and your help. @ Juan, no worries sir. I know real life gets in the way of our passion. While patience has never been a virtue of mine, this request has taught me to embrace it, in a good way. Taking time to sit back down and re-look at things I built. What needed to be changed? I really had to stop and listen to the command staff and the experts. You have no idea how important your approval was for me. I have always looked at your posts and SWAT build as a guide and what I tried to achieve. It's humbling to know it didn't come close to yours. Your dedication and attention to detail was just awesome. Thank you again sir. Thank you again to everyone for their support and ideas. I would do it all over agin, but with a different outlook and expectation. I knew the SWAT review would be hard. Kind of like an IRS audit. If I could do it all over or suggest anything for someone thinking of doing it: I would have been much more patient. I would have not made changes until Command or the DO confirmed it first. I would have posted on the Hurt Locker first. I say this because I realize if I had answered Rick's question honestly the first time, it would have been 'NO'. I would have gotten some feedback first. Don't get me wrong, I loved the journey and support. But I could have saved myself (and others) a lot of frustration and time. I guess what I am trying to say is; just don't make the same mistakes I did. Some felt I was too new to appreciate or understand protocol. They were 100% right. Introduce yourself, read the posts, learn, ask questions from the experts, learn, get your 501st TD done, get your ID, learn, read more posts, fix your TD mistakes, ask the experts, get deployed, read some more posts, learn, fix your TD for SWAT, ask the experts, learn some more, post in the Hurt Locker, get beat up, learn some more, fix your TD, ask the experts, Post for SWAT, be patient and HOLD ON. It's still going to be a bumpy ride. Sometimes you need a Yoda to put you in your place. Mike, you are my Yoda. I am humbled to be in the presence of so many great hobby enthusiasts and builders, and most are not SWAT yet (if they even decide to take that journey). I got here because of the experts who posted ideas and how to. I feel like I owe it to the group, feels like a community build. I can't appreciate the people in this group enough. Thank you.
  22. Cal, that is just amazing brother. Wow, really cool.
