  1. What's your height? I'm 5'5" and had to trim the top down quite a bit. If you are taller than me you may get away with just doing the thigh cut outs in the back.
  2. The sandie/dewback is only available at Wal-Mart in the US. You can make out the Wal-Mart blue exclusive sticker on my box. I got a second one to take out of the box a few weeks ago and it was marked down to $10. Good luck finding them in store at this point. Might have to look on ebay now.
  3. That's an awesome idea. Might have to use this with my fellow sandies in my garrison.
  4. 2016 Kidz Expo Finally did it and had my first troop on Saturday March 5th for the Albany Kidz Expo at the Empire State Plaza. A little funny how my first troop is where I work. Discovered I still have a few areas prone to armor biting and that I should always put in new batteries for my fans at the beginning of a troop! I was super nervous walking out thinking my calves would come undone or my knee plate/thigh ammo belt rubbing would be a huge issue. Once we got out there and the kids (and adults) went nuts, all the anxiety went away. I had such a good time and by the end of the night after getting home I was exhausted. 7 hour troop with a couple breaks was a great way to jump in feet first.
  5. Make sure you buy your Geo canteen now since it ships from England.
  6. I understand the wife aspect. If it wasn't for tax return I wouldn't have made my trip last weekend to pickup my Dirty Boy pack. I still need to take pictures to share with the group.
  7. For me, the original strapping method wouldn't work well on my body type so that's why I went with snaps. If it did, I would went that route from the get go.
  8. You could always Armor All to give it a darker/shiny appearance. I believe mine look like yours
  9. Sorry, I meant all the pieces. How they attach to the frame and each other.
  10. Could you show the process of attaching them all together?
  11. Yes, it just needs to be visual and it's possible but I wouldn't go the pure velcro route personally. I use the snap method and it's stronger. Last thing I need during a troop is something to come out of alignment or what not.
  12. Professional level photos! The shoulder bell elastic should be on the bottom of the bell. You have it a bit high.
  13. I'm a little obsessed with Pops since Force Friday
  14. Kids and SW takes up a lot of my $ but eventually I want to start a new sleeve with my bucket and TD # as the centerpiece.
  15. SInce you guys are in the middle of your builds, regardless of your preferred strapping methods you choose, remember for Police Officer (Level 2) you're going to need the bolts showing on the exterior like it would with the original strapping method. Just put that into consideration if you plan on going anything higher than basic.
  16. It looks like you're missing your rivet for your thigh knee pack. Do you just have it glued on?
  17. The most anxious time! I submitted right before EP7 premier and I was praying for approval on opening day but so many people were doing the same. Got it a few days later though.
  18. Nice progress. Looks like the color of Walt's 3 button piece matches pretty well too. Well if it didn't, it'd be ok too since its getting weathered anyways.
  19. THIS. That will be very a great source of information for myself and others who want to pursue SWAT level builds. It can be very difficult jumping around numerous threads and pages to find the info. I'm pretty sure I've view millenium1's SWAT submission photos a thousand times.
  20. Off to a great start! E6000 is very forgiving and removing seepage is very easy by just using your fingernail. Don't forget to pull off the thin plastic protector on the armor pieces.
