  1. Slowly, VERY slowly, working on an astromech... this project should feed my addiction for the next 4 years!
  2. Grout can be a good alternative too and it's easy to find. I used three different colors to weather mine.
  3. Looking good BJ... It will be nice to see another Florida Garrison sandie in the MEPD.
  4. Sounds good. Just be sure to correct "theyve" to either "they've" or "they have". I personally think "they have" sounds a bit better.
  5. Walked "off" the big screen sounds better imo.
  6. Gordon, might I suggest you change this sentence to "Troopers who achieve this award undergo extensive research..." (Change achieved to achieve, and underwent to undergo)
  7. Chris, I think overall you have a really nice looking SWAT submission. Have you considered closing the back of your thighs permanently? You may need to shim the backs if your legs are big, but I think it would be a nice improvement. Keep up the hard work... This is what SWAT is all about!
  8. Chris, great looking SWAT submission! With a few minor tweaks, you should be in good shape. One thing that may need some attention is the side seams... Check out what Anthony (TD8266) did to fill and sand his in. Hope this makes sense! Pete
  9. I just wanted to share what I did to place mesh material behind my teeth. I wanted something that was easy to breathe through, was removable for SWAT submission, and didn't show when trooping. I used metal mesh material commonly found at the home improvement stores for keeping leaves out of the gutter. (You can purchase a small 4' section). It's easy to cut and bend. Once painted, I wrapped the edges with industrial strength velcro, and affixed it inside the bucket. View from outside: Inside: Sample of the material: Pieces cut, bent, and painted:
  10. If only we were all ridiculously wealthy, we could make an annual pilgrimage to this place! Don't forget to scoop up a few handfuls of sand to augment your weathering.
  11. Check out these photos taken on location at the former set... http://www.exposureguide.com/culture/photos-of-the-abandoned-star-wars-sets-in-tunisia/
  12. Just trooped my first SWW today with 8 other sandies! I was giddy all day. Check out the parade at (I am the sandie at the back of the group)
  13. Great job Simon... it's nice to see another unique sandy in the SWAT bunch!!!
  14. Since we have all had so much trouble finding the droids, I decided to start building my own... it will be a 3-4 year project.
  15. Wow! Nice job on the Ab plate! I too had to create the notch... it was a "gut-check" experience, but I'm much happier with it now. Definitely showing SWAT determination here....
  16. Alexander, great work on those boots. They look awesome! Your efforts and talent are truly SWAT worthy. Overall, a very nice job indeed!
  17. Simon, check out a solution I created last year... It works well. http://forum.mepd.net/index.php?showtopic=10474&hl=
  18. Nick, Sorry to hear you're having troubles. Please know that your contributions and input here have been VERY helpful. Good luck getting things sorted out. When it's all settled, we'll always be here to welcome you back!
  19. I leave my backpack out... Not sure I could squeeze it in there if I tried. At troops, I had a "slip cover" made to conceal the back, and I carry my BFG in a section of French drain sleeve. Otherwise, everything else fits with room to spare!
  20. Yes, super glue worked for me too. I added the Loctite activator as well.
