  1. So i have begun my TE ANH Sandtrooper Mannequin Build, i got a bit side tracked this weekend due to organising the RPF prop party, but now i can really get into getting this done All the Parts are now trimmed and all the little problems i had have been fixed, the body suit and other little bits have still not arrived yet however i have started to assemble the parts. I know the TE Suit is now further down the list of accurate sets of sets of armour but all the same i still feel it is worthy of a nice display piece. At the Moment "Joe" is wearing the Si-man Sandtrooper Lid eventually the TE lid will replace it. The Blaster is just sat in the mannequins arms ive got to cut and re-fabricate the fingers so the he can grip the Blaster in his hands properly. The reason i went for this mannequin is purely based on the position of his arms so ive noticed that fitting the armour right is not going to be easy, he is also stood in a rather feminine way but im hoping once he is all done he will look a bit more menacing. Im worried that a back pack will make him too top heavey but thats a problem to solve further down the line.
  2. I recently just organised the RPFs first ever UK prop party, and part of the event was the unveil and display of the RS PROPMASTERS SI-MAN Stormtrooper armour, who also coincidently helped me run the event from the TDH side of things. Also part of the launch was their new Sandtrooper helmets that will soon be available, if your know your Stormtrooper history you will also know the lineage of these Armour and Helmet parts. Simon who is one half of RS Propmasters and the owner of the Original suits this armour and helmet are made from, gave me the very first Sandtrooper Helmet. so here is the new Si-Man Sandtrooper Helmet No#1 and i own it
  3. i plan to do an SE Sandtrooper Fan Club, Id cards, Patch's, T-shirt's **** i may even do some Car Sticker's too. Anyone want to sign up, its free
  4. What do i need from part 4 ?? I have a diamond knee plate i had to source that else where
  5. I think the SE Sandtroopers are getting a hard time, i mean come on it's not there fault
  6. all the armour is now trimmed and ready for assembley, im just waiting for the postman to bring me some canvas shoulder straps and other pieces and then i can begin. ive had to take a little more off the edges of the armour than what i wanted to , to get rid of the splits and stuff that i showed in previous pictures, but it still looks ok i think. Im away this weekend as i am organising the UKs first official RPF prop Party which is exciting stuff so next week is assembley week whoop whoop
  7. what did i do SE Sandtroopers Rock you do realise i am joking of course
  8. so i am begining to put the armour together now and just wanted some clarification on the ab plate. Ive been looking through countless pictures here and ive seen so many different Sandtrooper variations regarding the AB section, some with buttons some with out. which bits do i use and which do i throw away
  9. Firstly i apologise if this thread is in the wrong location or if it's been covered before. I was always led to believe that the added Sandtrooper's were computer generated, the helmet's for a start are awful. however while watching the Blu Ray edition of ANH it turns out the Droid search Sandtrooper's in the desert are actually real guy's I know the norm here is that sandtrooper don't have drop boxes but am i right in thinking that due to the addition of these SE Sandtroopers Drop Boxes are optional ??
  10. yeah i figured thats what i would do with this set of TE, just rough it up and turn it dirty, maybe even troop in it
  11. as much as i love your suggestion i dont think that would go down to well with some people and besides im still in a knee cast and need to build my armour. i will one day get a nice picture of the 3 of us though, i think it would be rather cool
  12. Ok so im going to begin my TE build this weekend, now i have to admit something here apart from Helmet's ive never built a higher end more accurate set of armour before, therefore although i want to get it spot on this build will be my practice before i build my RS set of armour, basically one to troop in (TE) one to display (RS) It seems lately everytime i buy a set armour there are issues with the set's, CAP helmet build and the FEM to name a few, well the TE armour is in that category too, thankfully the RS armour is in perfect condition. ok so i got the TE at a really affordable price to good not to buy, ive already half done the helmet so now i move to the armour. on first inspection its great its made of .093 styrene, its a really nice sharp pull and looks great, my plan is to paint it semi-gloss and then weather it Sandtrooper style (obviously) As i said ive never built higher end armour before so im a little nervous with the parts and how they go together ie seperate butt and kidney plate and also the glueing of the biceps shins and thighs i have styrene strips as part of the armour so not entirely sure what to do with these. I mentioned earlier that the TE has fallen into the problem category and this is the reason why, the person that owned this armour before me obviously had no real experience in building armour and his initial attempt at trimming out the parts is shocking to be honest, my theory is he was daunted by the task made mistakes and shipped it out. Below are a couple of pictures where you can see he has tried to trim the armour and rather than cut the styrene all the way through he has tried to snap the excess off causing splits in certain parts of the armour. If i trim back the pieces to get rid of those splits im going to loose a lot of the under cut that is such a big appeal to these higher end sets of armour so basically i need to know how best to repair these splits before i trim any further ? and can someone explain please how i use these strips of styrene also what glue do you guys use in the states that gives a really good bond to styrene ?? Do i still use velcro at the back's of the shins and Thigh's or glue those too. im sorry for the long post and the many question's again
  13. looking forward to seeing this The Trend seems to be about Families Trooping together lately THE MEPD one big family
  14. Thanks Brad i did think it was TE but the cap is not as bumpy as i thought it might be. Now that my mannequin has turned up i can begin the build now i just hope i can replicate the Look sir droids trooper and do it justice
  15. ok so this is me way way back in the day ............ she was hot stage dancer at an Open air rock festival here in the UK, the festival was Called Download at Donnington Park, it used to be called Monsters of Rock a long time ago. and yep a did get her number too
  16. Thanks Guys, this means a lot. i can finally begin my TE and RS trooper Builds now oh before i leave this thread heres one more picture for you all
  17. great il make a post in the relevant section
  18. Hey No worries about any comment's we are all friends here and i value everyone's input in getting this right. I did try this with a Pauldron however it just looked to big for her, if i could find a more lady like one then yes i agree it would really set it off, i actually have a really small ammo pack that i forgot to add. i will definately take some more pictures for you all once its finally completed 100% as for getting your Fiancee involved, maybe show her these picture's it could inspire her, My Fiancee has a great attitude and personality to putting on costume's usually fancy dress standard, she is a fun girl that likes to get involved and just have fun, she has really enjoyed doing this Fem and cant wait for an upcoming event to wear it properly. I think its great when couple's can share each other's hobby's and passion's, my fiancee's attitude is "if you cant beat them then join them"
  19. So the Fem Trooper is all done, just need to finish off weathering the armour now, i think its looks ok ...... it was a real struggle building this with my leg in a cast but we got there lol I really wish we had kept the armour clean but my fiancee was adamant she wanted to go Dirty, we are not going to use Pouches or a pauldron as i felt it detracted from the Fem look however having said that we do have a normal chest plate that she may use and at some point add the pouch and pauldron, but then there is the issue of proper trooper boots. We are taking my son to an event soon so when there we will take plenty more pictures
  20. it seems i have enough spare parts to make you both happy
