  1. Just ask the kid(s) if he/she ever saw Episode IV. Tell them it would be unfortunate if his family shared the same fate as Luke's Aunt and Uncle. We TDs are known to take care of business. KIDDING! lol (or am I?) muahahaha Next time, we'll make sure to go out as a patrol, Brother! Strength in numbers against the little Bantha Poo Doos.
  2. Congratulations, Brother! It's awesome to hear that it all worked out for you! They always say things happen for a reason. Good luck and God bless you and your loved ones as you enter this latest chapter of your life. I hope that this hobby and your Sandy brothers were a pleasant distraction from the chaos of the past months and that it helped keep your sanity as well. So now go enjoy your new found happiness! And most important of all... GET TO WORK ON THAT SI-MAN KIT ALREADY SO YOUR FELLOW TD BROTHERS CAN ENVY YOU ONCE MORE! lol Take care, My Friend!
  3. Nice read, Rick! Awesome points made as well, Brother! Isn't the next installment of THE THING actually a prequel? Pure awesome either way. Heck, born in 1969, Troops! I remember all those good ones from that time. Who could forget Sybil Danning from Battle Beyond The Stars? Man, they should remake THAT one just for the eye candy! LOL
  4. Welcome to the MEPD and welcome to the 66ers, Brother! Woo Hoo!
  5. Hang in there, Buddy! You'll soon be joining all of us in the sand officially in no time!
  6. Thx! Will do! Nice work with your website updates too, Bro!
  7. Um...yeah, I will be contacting you again real soon. Pack # 4 as a start base, Brother! $$ ? Please pm me!
  8. I'm really gonna try for the 11th, Bro! BTW, Justin has another possible patrol lined up for us, but I'll get more details from him on it and let you know. It's a promo-type thing.
  9. VERY cool shots, Brother! Awesome!
  10. It was definitely a great experience, Rick! (I also had to show off the pack you made for me using RETNUHHA's labels!) But, I'm with our Garrison XO on the decision to have next year's event happen in May rather than in late August! Too HOT! (Whew!) Despite the Tatooine-ish type heat, hese are they types of events that remind us why we are all doing this in the first place.: For Charity and entertainment by fans for the fans and potential new ones! I wish I could have posted more pics, but there was way too many. Although RETNUHHA (TD-4749) has some pics in his MEPD post, as well! If you happen to be in Southern California next year around the time of the next event, we would love to have you (and your family) there!
  11. Thx a lot, Philip! Yeah, it was HOT! AAK! Honestly, we should be used to it right? Patrolling a planet with 2 suns and all. But, maybe Earth's one sun is just too powerful! Well unfortunately, Me and Retnuhha were over by the Elephant exhibit when the Leia pic was taken. Hmmm...if we can fall for the ol' blasted Jedi mind trick, I wonder what would have happened if we fell under her spell??? lol
  12. Awesome pics! It was great to finally troop with you and I look forward to our next patrol and this time with our patrol leader! It was definitely a fun troop but it was HOT! (Jeebus!) We earned our stripes that day, Brother! Catch up with you soon!
  13. Star Wars Day at the Los Angeles Zoo August 27, 2011, 10:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. The LA Zoo will take you to a galaxy far, far away! Meet you favorite Star Wars characters and learn about creatures from other galaxies as well as our own. "The zoo took great care of us for they day, providing soda, water, and gatorade for the morning, and water for the afternoon, plus snacks until they ran out and a huge pizza lunch! We also had a gigantic air conditioned changing room/break space that came in very very handy as they day got hotter. Each participant including wranglers got 4 tickets to come back later. The zoo is doing a donation to charity in our name. We have asked that they donate the funds to the Esquenazi family if they can--since the zoo is run by the city, they may run into some rules/regs that may not allow them to do that. If its not possible, the money will go to St Judes Children's hospital. We did learn a lot from this event, and how things went down. Despite a lot of planning including meetings, phone calls, and on-site visits, a few things will be changed for next year. And they DO want us to come back! We're looking at next May instead of August (so it wont be so HOT!). We're going to schedule times in advance for the tented appearances, and also have more of the really popular characters like Vader and R2 so that these characters can have shorter appearance times, and still keep the booths full. If we do an opening march next year, we'll coordinate that a little better! We're also going to shorten the event to 10 am to 3 pm, and spread it over 2 days. We may even do shifts next year, but with shortening the event that may not be needed." -- Lesley Farquhar / TR-3774 (Southern California Garrison XO) This troop was ROUGH but it was a very fun one! Temps were in the upper 90's-low 100's. (Whew!) I'm glad no one passed out! Over 70 members from the SCG 501st and Rebel Legion came in for support of this event with 3 TDs representing the Sandies! TD-6985 - Michael Ramirez: "SCRIBBLER" ( MEPD / SCG / Route 66 Patrol ) RT-97C Heavy Blaster TD-4749 - Robert Longfellow: "RETNUHHA" ( MEPD / SCG / Route 66 Patrol ) DLT-19 Heavy Blaster TD-4544 - Ed R. 14. Awesome! Congrats, Brother! Now on to the 66ers, Police Officer Deployment and then SWAT status! Woo Hoo!
  15. Nice work! Looking forward to troopin' with you at the LA ZOO event this weekend!
  16. LIkewise, Brother! This should definitely be a nice troop. I'm steering away from my usual orange pauldron and T-21 for this one. I'm gonna go with the White pauldron and MG-15 this time around. I Just hope the temp stays under 95 for the 501st this weekend! (Even though it'll feel like winter to us Sandys. Right? haha)
  17. Congrats, Brother and welcome to the fold! Now stow your gear and take care of the Womp Rats behind the mess tent! lol Awesome gear, Buddy!
  18. Awesome gear, Private! Good luck on Deployment and hope to see you on the sand soon, Brother!
  19. My Field Pack: Version # 3 (courtesy of Dirty Boy / TD-4401) shown pre-radio decal and at a troop event ...
  20. Welcome to the 'Dirty Side', Brother! Now report for Roadblock duty, Trooper!
  21. I thought that was AM! I tried on my cousin's AM TK suit and it's a nice roomy fit. Pretty sharp, too. Nice work, Brother! I'm sure the armor mods and adjustments (if any) that you might have to make will be minor and simple. Other than that, your gear is lookin' good. Nice get with Rick's Dewback Prod, too! I almost got that from him a few weeks back but got caught up with some payments that needed tending to. I'm glad the 'Lizard Poker' found a good home! Hope to see you out there with the rest us 'Jawa Exterminators' soon! @ Marcus - No worries, Bro... We've all been there at one time or another! After reading the MEPD boards for months before I joined, I started to take notice of details I never saw before or paid attention to, like an upside down radio, gaffer's tape, raised helmet brows and latex hand plates(to name a few. lol). The little details on our gear is what makes us so Bad-A$$! (Just my opinion, anyway) hahaha The MEPD rocks! 'Nuff said!
