  1. I find it funny that we are such critics (in a good way, though) of his new helmet considering he's the one that has made us so demanding of 'Trooper armor to begin with? Accuracy, accuracy, accuracy! You brought it on yourself, TE!
  2. Right TE, it can be done. I'm telling you guys: Mask the front, a light spritz of ceiling popcorn spray from about 3 feet away, sand it down a bit, and BAM!, bumpy cap and back.
  3. Lookin' good, makes me wish I had $800. Is the surface a bit rough or is it just an effect of the flash on the paint?
  4. A lot of people on ebay always say that fiberglass is "brittle and warps over time" but if laid correctly it's sturdy as ****. If your mold is warped, then your finished piece will be warped but I've never had it just happen on it's own.
  5. Aren't they part of the back cap? I admit I don't know much about hte Jedi helmets because they look crappy to me.
  6. If you wanted the bumps, couldn't you spray it lightly with some sort of textured paint like a light coat of "popcorn ceiling" spray, sand it down a bit to smooth it out somewhat before painting the final white? I would think something could be done.
  7. Just think of another possibility. See if you can bring back a coffee can of dirt and replace all the paint and fullers earth on our suits with real sand from "Tattooine". Talk about being truly screen accurate.
  8. An awesome idea! I have to get my suit ready for deployment still but It sounds cool.
  9. I don't read any EU novels since "The Courtship of Princess Leia" so I wouldn't know about there but the comic books show "desert outfitted" Stormtroopers all the time. That is what I was talking about. Felucia does kinda make sense, though.
  10. I wouldn't call Endor a "harsh environment" though, would you?
  11. If you go with the EU comics, apparently they're everywhere!
  12. I was just thinking (dangerous, I know), but what was the suit that was at MGM STUDIOS FL around the mid '90's?
  13. I know you called it a "display" Gonk27, but it looks more like they threw a Stormtrooper suit at a mannequin and where the parts stuck, they said :"Yeh, thet's good 'nough.". Had they no respect at that museum?!
  14. The... uh, um,.....shirt looks great...yeah.
  15. Gasp! You didn't put the TK ab-plate on yet did you? Kidding, man. I'm sure you didn't.
  16. Yo' IanL, wha's wrong with puttin sinners on yo' ride. Especially those 30"+ rims. That's so "donk"! Sorry, situation presented itself. Back on topic now...
  17. Any pics of what a "badly restored" helmet looks like?
  18. Correct. I was just asking a question about specifics in 1536's post. To which followed a "watch the movie again" response from Guns. I did. To be MEPD cert. takes: pack, pauldron, pouches, kneeplate mod, ab plate mod, a BFG and dirt. After you do all that and get the "OK", troop how you like, pack or no pack.
  19. Done, as you asked. And...stuntwork doesn't change the fact that they aren't wearing any.
  20. If you mean packs, only two of those guys do not have packs. The Captain at the front and the "support Trooper"in the rear. (pictured far left) Forgive and correct me if that's not what you meant.
  21. I love the watery "coffee stain" look. How'd you get it?
  22. Well S1P, then you ALL did great work! It must say something that though they were done by different people, the look is consistant. Cant wait to see them with armor!
  23. I love the first red one, the bottom middle, and last one. Impressively realistic weathering, S1P!
