  1. i also think AP and TE would fit you.
  2. yeah, the reason his FX armor is so expensive is because its REALLY NICE fx armor. my first set was from him. he puts it all together, hand paints decals, has a wonderful strap system that he uses and its all ready to go. for that amount of money you could get the ap but would have to put it together yourself. Efrain also builds the AP armor which comes with the ANH helmet he offers. You might want to look into that too.
  3. in my personal opinion, i would get the AP helmet. And since $250-300 is your price range then it is perfect for you. it is the most accurate helmet you can get for that price. I've bought from Efrain at Gotarmor before. Great guy!
  4. actually that ANH helmet gotarmor offers is AP armor. He buys kits from them and assembles and paints them up. so either way its AP. if you want to get a helmet kit to assemble, get it from AP by contacting tk409 (it will also be cheaper) but gotarmor offers the same helmet, but for more $$ cuz the works all done.
  5. ive been searching for a vintage boy scout backpack frame, but all of the ones i come across are awkward shapes. did you guys have to do any cutting on yours?
  6. the right troopers right bicep is facing outwards. maybe we should start doing that?
  7. i dont know, the far left looks pretty groovy to me
  8. i know this thread is old and someone has probably already thought of this, but yesterday when i was at the zoo i saw what looked to be the EXACT boxes used for the backpacks. it was on the floor of the indoor elephant room. it had the ridges on the back and everything! it even looked like the right depth. i asked the zookeeper dude what kind of boxes they were and he said they're the kind used in kitchens at restaurants to carry dirty dishes around. Then it totally hit me! when i was a bus boy at an old job we had a million of these things and we used them to bus tables. though i could be wrong, they looked really close. heres a link to one site, it was the first one i got when i searched but it might be something worth looking into. http://www.etundra.com/shop/index.asp?prod...CFQE2PgodBh2yuQ
  9. i myself and a couple of troopers in my garrison use these. they work well.
  10. yeah and when you watch the movies, they're dirty but not THAT dirty.
  11. looking good dude. i like that the weathering isn't over done, which can happen if you aren't careful (believe me, i've been there) I would go over the weathered areas with fullers earth though just for highlights and accents.
  12. bravo! you know you're gonna have to show me how to do that!
  13. he doesnt but i believe he still sells boots on ebay.
  14. Cheng!! that is it. now that i think about it, i had the same problem with the top part of the boot not stretching enough so i had to pull on those little tabs to help get it on. I ended up ripping one off in the process the very first try
  15. yeah if you got the romFX i wouldnt helmet mount the speakers. its a seperate speaker that works better to just have somewhere else. i've never had a feedback problem unless i was messing around and put the mic near the speaker
  16. yeah only the Hyperdyne and the RomFX from what i know have the integrated static burst effect. A couple of people in our garrison have the Romfx as well as myself and LOVE it. i can't speak for hyperdyne, but i know it was my 2nd. you can take a listen to their samples on their sites. The difference between the two is basically that the Romfx comes with everything: the chip (amp and static burst unit), the mic, and the speaker, where as the Hyperdyne is just the static burst amp chip and you have to buy the other parts seperate. But neither of these have fans but they could be added in seperately. Personally, on my next bucket i will not add fans as they take up space and really don't make that much of a difference. It's either be hot, or a little hotter. Regarding the skullworx i wasn't aware they came out with a new model so it very well might fit a smaller ANH helmet. @ td8020: i dont know from personal experience but i was originally going to buy it for my FX bucket but then i got an RT helmet which is much smaller, and i put two fans and foam padding in that sucker and it was a TIGHT fit so i couldn't imagine having the skullworx system in there. But as TD4063 said there is a new model so it might work for you. I'd try and get some pictures or something to check it out. It also depends on whether or not you have a smaller or larger head too. You also have to consider what you need a sound system for as well. If it's something you are gonna use all the time and need to be heard over crowds, the little aerator speakers are not going to get very loud without feedback cuz of their position. The Hyperdyne and RomFX models are seperate speakers that get pretty darn loud. I've seen troopers mount the speaker (very small) in their mp40 pouches both shoulder and belt and it is very effective. It also depends on how pressed you are about static burst. I personally LOVE the static burst effect and that automatically put me in line with hyperdyne and romfx. But if you could care less (as im sure many do), then skullworx might be the best solution for you. Its all personal opinion. I hope this helps you in your sound system search as i know i spent many hours deciding between the three systems a year ago. GOOD LUCK TROOPER!
  17. those are the best helmets i have ever seen.
  18. i got boots from them about a year ago and they were fine. Their sizes are a little off from what your normal shoe is though, so i had to send it back for another size. There is a guy on EBAY who sells the same type of boot but not glossy, which i think looks better with sandtrooper armor. Not sure of his name though... if anyone wants to pitch in...
  19. Skullworx definitely looks like a good package, but i doubt you would be able to fit it in anything smaller than an FX helmet though. also try http://www.hyperdynelabs.com between the three you should be able to find whats best for you.
  20. http://www.romfx.com is all you need to know.
  21. i dunno exactly what you guys are looking for, but while i was at walmart i went down the air filter aisle and saw a bunch of stuff that looked like what you needed. (?) maybe?
  22. I guess you're right. Perhaps a place like felucia then. I read a lot of the EU books but haven't come across any mention of sandtroopers anywhere. You hear about a lot of shadow troopers though.
