  1. We need to use patch and shirt funds for this.... That is what some garrisons usually do, like add 1.00 to the patches and shirts.... that should help with keeping up with the fees...Dues aren'ta good idea as they can't be 'enforced'.. we can keep up with volunteer funds or SWAG profits as mentioned..... I'm all for adding it to my CC now if you wish to stay here Josh...no problem. I've emailed Chris about this once but, if Josh doesn't want to just add it to his site already.. We can work out some kind of fee sharing with him if thats the deal. Josh give me a shout today/night... -Joey TD-152 MPED-DL
  2. The 3 pocket magazine holders actually came as a set, they are German MP-38/40 pouches and come in pairs, I assumed that the troopers all had both, one on the shoulder and one on the left hip. ( this is what i have for my costume) the caps you have show someting smaller, most likely just another type of leather pouch of british or german military surplus... I have my sandtrooper binoculars on my other hip, attached with a cell phone clip ( the spinning kind)... -Joey TD-152
  3. Does anyone have a link to the aerator speakers? I bought mine so long ago, that i can't find them online exactly anymore..... Thanks -Joey
  4. I gave Tim a few sugestions at DragonCon for sandtrooper specific staions of duty, so as things get down to the actual planning stages at the convention, we will know what volunteer duties are there for us to possibly do as a group.. For example I'm hoping that we can assist with 'weapons' checking.. inspecting and tagging prop weapons.. kinda fits in with our "police" theme. Or maybe working a specific show or event where sandtroopers are the only troopers around. etc.. Along those lines, we do need to start creating a MPED specific citation, like some of the others produced in the past, that we can use in character to cite con goers throughout the day. -Joey TD-152
  5. Been out trooping the DVD releases before during and after again this weekend. Not to mention playing Battlefront at night!!! Keeps a trooper busy! -Bamatrooper TD-152
  6. darn, some good stuff... Maybe he will sell his molds to someone else to keep the supply out there for us less than talented troopers!
  7. Get those pics together troopers! Oops! I've got to do mine also! -Joey TD-152
  8. thanks for the comments. The biggest thing i've learned is to think light and use Zip ties! yep I built the whole thing with rivets and Zip ties. It makes changing out components and upgrades easier too, just cut the tie and replace when done.! I've added the shoulder pouch to the pack as well, like the movie troopers had done... seems to work well. -Bamatrooper TD-152

  17. Cool, just a handful of days to go! I expect to see a bunch of MPED troopers participating in the First Droid Hunt on Sat. Heck we TD's invented the droid hunt in EP-IV, So let's show the public how real troopers do it! Bamatrooper TD-152
  18. Our best shot at a group pic will be after the 501st pic on Sunday. I'll gather the TD's we have right after the Legion pics are done and we'll get a quicky for the MPED... I'll be there in TD gear and my Clonetrooper ( dirty of course!) Bamatrooper TD-152
  19. To be real, lets not confuse what we do in the 501st using the terms "canon" and "screen accurate/replica" they are two different animals. Replicas/Screen Accurate is exacting, with all the production flaws and odds and ends, replicating the production used props in material and construction methods... "Canon" is more simply a correct representation.. of the above, not a perfect copy, that would be a replica. Sure, some folks do both, cause if you chase replicas, then you will most certainly be ":canon" but making a "canon" prop/costume, doesn't mean that it is a replica/screen accurate piece... with that in mind, I don't think we can require a replica backpack ( mostly because of the multiple variations on screen ) IMHO.. Now BFG's, well i guess it depends on how far we want to go on that one... does your custom BFG's look "canon" like a german MG or lewis gun? is that within tolerances we are talking about? We sure can't have anything goes or we'd have troopes with Alien pulse rifles out there!!! Maybe there is a common thread not to beat up ourselves about... -good discussion, lets here more.... -Bamatrooper TD-152
  20. Welcome to the Dirt pile! -Bamatrooper TD-152
  21. This discussion brings up a good point, what the heck happened to the screen used sandtrooper packs? Are they still around somewhere? Tim, does Sansweet have one in his ubber collection? Brak's "Davin Felth" site documents the 2 main versions /styles from ANH, but also admits that there are some inconsistancies (ie. differences) in the on screen packs. We all can obviously study and replicate the Toy's packs, and the pack #2 from the DV site... but i highly doubt we can standardize on them, maybe though agree on some common attributes? Good discussion idea, -Bamatrooper TD-152
  22. North Dakota? Are you kiddin me , whats the hi up there like 70! LOL Nah just ribbin on you. Down here we get into the 90's with 100% humidity regularly, you don't sweat as much till you stop then it pours... Ususally we all wear underarmor brand body suits, and drink plenty of water before and during,. After a hour parade, we usually can pour the sweat out of our armor pieces and helmets literally! Helps to keep a towel in the armor bin to whipe off the sweat or trooper funk will ferment nicely in a closed plastic bin in the 90 degree sun on your way home!!! I don't know if anyone has spent the $$ on a cool vest like military uses.. the kind you put in the refrigerator then wear for like 3-4 hours... I' dbe interested to hear if anyone has done more than simple PC fans for cooling too..... -Bamatrooper
  23. I hope so ,'cause that is what i am going to be going soon!
  24. Nice work!!! not near as ugly as Bikerscout.net! J/K! LOL! -Bamatrooper

The MPED will be on patrol this weekend at www.adventurecon.com Word has it that a vip (Anthony Daniels) will be on hand with information about those illusive stolen droids we've been searching for! Vader (David Prowse) will also be there, so look sharp troops! -Bamatrooper TD-152
