Dude....what's taking so long. I've already done my first pass of weathering. Eeeennnnn!!!!

Well calling you a ******* was about in line with you suggesting we recast although neither of us called you a *******. The truth is that you were upset that you couldn't buy something that we don't sell. Your way or you will cry about it.....so you cried.....it's over dude. Period. The reality is that we didn't ask you to buy it. We offered it when you asked for it. This kind of thing pisses me off.

LOL. Well, I would consider locking this thread at this point. Sounds like this one will have a hard time getting back on track. You can build these props from PVC fittings and coffee cans if you are not concerned with ultimate accuracy. Those who are, will try to build them as we did. If someone else made one that was this accurate, we wouldn't have. Even now, there are things that could be bettered on ours.

Thanks for the compliment. They are a ton of work to make even after the molds are done. We literally have to manually inject the rubber into the small detail areas because the rubber is too thick to flow. Lewis has done a great job painting and assembling them as well. Unfortunately, we do not do kits. I know many people would love them but it's not work the heartache. In the beginning, we used to offer the E-11 as a kit but people in general had no real idea how to work with the rubber parts and would end up ruining the parts. They would then come back and ask for more parts for free. They would end up going away angry about the whole thing. We decided early on that we would not offer kits. It's a shame but that's the way it is. I thought we were being nice by waving the shipping charges to this gentleman. This isn't a Japanese street market where we are haggling over the price of fish.

LOL. Whoa...whoa...whoa..... Let's all just calm down. He's unhappy. Let him vent. He is off-base in his suggestion about recasting but no harm. Obviously has never build anything like this himself from scratch and has no clue how much work, material costs and start up costs go into a small project like this. Educate him so he's not ignorant in the manufacturing process vs. stomping on him. We're all friends here. Buy a better, more accurate electrobinoc kit that is NOT a recast that is dirt cheap and show me...there's the challenge.

Hey guys. We appreciate the heads up on this. Mike responded and said that he didn't know that it was considered "wrong" to recast. He seems like a good enough person to stop recasting. As far as the electrobinocs they are always available through us until the mold is toast.

Sorry it's taken so long, We've been working pretty crappy hours since the writer's strike. The rest of the parts will be out of the mold by Tuesday or Wednesday. We will only do a 15 part run since we have limited time. This will come with finished painting, weathered leather strap and shipping to lower 48 states of the continental US. Approximate price $200.00. Other countries are okay but must pay shipping.

Just an update..... We've pulled the first part on Friday. The visor part will be pulled next week.... These will come painted as shown. They are not hollow but near indestructible. Very lightweight. I accidentally stuck the wrong website tag on these pictures, they are from our other projects. Sorry....

I would say that the only difference would be the shipping costs. I haven't cast one of these yet so I'm not sure what the difficulties are in casting. Rubber is quite a bit thicker than resin. It doesn't like to go into details by itself. You have to force it to go. If I were making these out of resin, it would be a piece of cake. I would say that the shipping to AK and HI might be a few dollars more. I really have no idea other than and educated guess though.

Well, as far as molding a real Simrad... 1. All the Simrads that we have here at work are functional and they didn't want me to possibly destroy any in the molding process. 2. If I bought a real one, I would have to recoup the costs of the real one on top of the molding and manufacturing which would take forever. 3. They are very hard to find. I found only two after a few months of searching. One was in good condition but I didn't care for the seller's attitude. Size for size, this is exactly the same. We have the real one here that we were able to pull molds of simple parts off of. We bought the V8 engine model kit. I doubt you will be able to tell in the end. We are very critical of quality.

I mean, I'm no expert but ...ummm..... that's friggin' bad. Paint it black and see what it looks like then decide whether to ditch it. ...Sorry......I threw up a little in the back of my mouth...

Okay. So we are in the process of molding and pouring multiple bucks of each part so that we can pull most of the pack in two pulls. I will post pictures soon of a completed pack. I think we've only made one pack to date.

Just a refresher of how these will look.... The Main Boxes: The radio box: It takes 6 pieces to make the radio box. Power Cell: We tried to make it easy to position and install. The top hose panel: We attempted to keep it as true as possible. The thermal detonator thing: Radar Dish Thing: Hose Box: Plunger: Connector Thing: Oil Cannister: The bottle caps: Tube End caps: Oil Filter:

Well, I recently got an electrobinocular kit that I bought and I was not very pleased. It came in two halves that won't match up properly and there is a ton of clean up on them to make them usuable. We have a real set of Simrad binocs that we will use for measurements. We will be making a master to match the Simrad. We purchased the Revell visible V8 model kit to get the greeblies. We will be making a very accurate set of Electrobinoculars in HyperfirmX rubber. This is the first product that we will be testing the new material on. HyperfirmX is more durable and a higher density rubber than it's predecessor. We will embed a stainless steel strap loop into the rubber so that a leather strap can be attached without fear of tearing. These will not be hollow but should be fairly lightweight as with all Sci-fire products. This will be a fast tracked project and Slavefive will be the point-of-contact if you have any questions. The target price will be $200 shipped to the lower 48 continental US states. We can ship to other states and countries but shipping costs will apply. We will not sell any until they are cast and in hand. Progress pictures will follow within in the next few days. {SMILIES_PATH}/dance.gif {SMILIES_PATH}/dance.gif I'm excited about this project. I've been wanting one for a long time. Any suggestions?

Well, I guess the MDK pack project is back online. We will start making multiple bucks (vacuum form molds) so that we can streamline this and make the kits more inexpensive. I don't know what they will cost yet because of the amount of parts required to make these. I will know more once I get totals back from vacuum forming and material costs. I don't know how many we will make since these are VERY labor intensive. Slavefive will be the point of contact for this since he's been doing so well taking care of the ongoing Sci-fire disasters. As far as this project goes, I think I will just get the project setup and then hand it off.
