  1. Welcome to the MEPD! As everyone has already said, this is THE place to be for any and all of your Sandy needs.
  2. While I've only been here a little over six months or so, I can't say that I've ever gotten a negative vibe from this forum. From day one, I've felt welcome. People have always been willing to help me out and offer advice when I ask for it. I think that we can all joke with each other, give advice, and provide help and information. If that's not community, then what is? I can't see how anyone could say that we are elitist or posers or any other such name because I don't think that anyone on this board is overbearing or negative or acts like a know-it-all. I think that when someone steps out of bounds, the rest of us tell it like it is and won't stand for it. If that makes me elitist, thin fine, I guess I am, but I won't tolerate some one being rude to one of my friends. And that's how I think of you guys, as my friends. I log on here every day when I get home from work and check to see what's going on. It's kind of become my routine and I wouldn't change it for the world. I'm done now. No more rambling.
  3. Yep, we won't stop the fun until some one looses an eye. I personally have always wanted to see it happen, but who knows maybe that's just me...
  4. Man grease? I should hope not!
  5. Sorry, Sir, it won't happen again, Sir!
  6. That is awesome Chris! Way to go!
  7. Sorry that it's been two weeks... I finally found my camera and here are the pics. Let me know if you want to see them from another angle (such as the back perhaps). And no, I still haven't had a chance to weather them...
  8. Or you could save your $3150 and buy a Hyperfirm for around 500!
  9. Glad to hear that you are doing well Tony! It's awesome to see you in uniform with your bucket on, but where's the DIRT bro? Our XO is slackin'! Just giving you a hard time, sir.
  10. I've got a piece of velcro that goes around my wrist and then a piece that goes around my palm. And, like Mike, I use a pair of nomex flight gloves. I also have a pair of the chemical gloves and while they look great, there is no way in **** that you'd ever want to wear them for longer than 5 minutes.
  11. Looking really good bro! Nice and dirty with some very good weathering patterns on the high spots. Makes me want to go back and re-weather my armor...
  12. WIRELESS? I'd love to know more about your sound system.
  13. I ended up using Kiwi brand leather dye. It took about 20 minutes to do and I didn't need to use a deglazer or anything. I just cleaned the pouches with a damp rag, let them dry, and then went to it with the leather dye. I'm still debating weather or not to hit the pouches with black shoe polish, but in my opinion they look great with out it. I'll see if I can upload some pictures later (can't find my camera right now). BTW, I haven't had a problem with the dye coming off or anything like that.
  14. Welcome Cory! Always a pleasure to have another Texan on the boards. For all things Sandy, you've come to the right place!
  15. :::drool::: That is AWESOME Mike! I can't wait to see it finished. Also, what are you using for the filter and what kind of frame did you mount the main boxes to?
  16. Nathan - I WANT ONE! Paint me up a full suit and I'll buy it for sure! As long as one of the Commando style buckets comes with it of course... otherwise I guess I'll have to settle for just one of the buckets.
  17. I love me CAboots! Although, I've heard that (for the sake of movie accuracy) the boots that they used for filming had a hard sole and not a rubber one like the CA and Cheng boots have. Just my two cents but I'd say that you can't go wrong with CA; even their seconds (the ones at a lower price because of slight defects) are amazing and hold up very well while trooping.
  18. Yeah, but your the BOSS, Boss! I'm working on gathering parts for my pack, and I've come to the realization that It doesn't matter what your pack looks like to someone else, it matters whether you like it or not. Your pack should be your own and be as customized as you like. Some people, like me, prefer screen accuracy, others, prefer to try and individualize themselves through their pack. Either way is fine, as long as you don't try and get away with wearing a NorthFace or JanSport and trying to call it your pack.
  19. For those of you who don't know... There's a reason that he went by the moniker of TE of so many years. Matt - I hope that you are able to buy back the suit that you owned. That would be awesome. A dream come true if it happened to me...
  20. When Rob's done with it, send it on down to me, Sir... You might not get it back though. I love it!
  21. Alright guys, I've been looking and looking for a suitable picture to use for the patches, but I can't find anything for the life of me. The only things that I can find are grainy screen caps and real-life photos of the gun before modifications. If anyone has a good high res photo of the Lewis gun (preferably a hyperfirm), please PM me. Thanks!
  22. Tim - What kind of pouches are you looking for? I will most likely be purchasing more of the MP-40 pouch pairs, so if that is what you are looking for, keep an eye on the forums and look for me to post about the pouches in the next month or so.
  23. I don't know... The helmet looks way better, but there are still WAY too many things wrong with it...
  24. You should PM Mike, Guns, CMANavy, and Seth. I believe that all of them would be more than willing to help you out with any pics. I'm sure that there are others as well who have TEarmor. Hope you're able to get the pics that you need.
