  1. What harm would have come from this happening assuming all the money he collected actually went to the project?
  2. I've never really been happy with the way I have my pouches attached. This is a good solution! Thanks Juan!
  3. Thanks! Funny thing is while I was working on this I thought how nice an entire suit would look done in the same design. Then I thought about how much work it would take to get it done and that thought process hit a wall pretty quickly. Would be cool though.
  4. Yeah, that's all you really need to buy in regards to armor. Check out the CRL for some of the other minor changes you'd need to implement. There will be some painting and you'll have to remove some details from your TK and most importantly take a bath in some MUD.
  5. Last Christmas my parents were asking me what I wanted and I couldn't really think of anything. I saw the EFX helmets for sale at CV and thought "You can never have too many helmets right?!" so I said why don't you pick up one of those for me? Also, while I was at CV, I was looking at the 501st TK Helmet exhibit and the one that was painted like a Maori Warrior I thought was really cool. I had showed it to a friend of mine who is Samoan as well as a tattoo artist and he really liked the idea of what the artist did and kept talking about what he would have done. So I brought the helmet to him and I said, "Have at it!" I figured instead of displaying just another helmet, why don't I display some art. It took some time for him to get it back to me but when he did I had the blueprint of something pretty amazing. He left the painting up to me and this is what we came up with...
  6. When I first decided to get armor, before cutting my first piece, attaching my first piece of velcro, rivet or applying a drop of E6000 I knew I was going dirty. I like the personality that comes with the different weathering, ammo pouches, pauldrons, packs, and weapons. Although some will argue, a TK is a TK, BUT no two TDs are the same. I also have a death star theme office but that doesn't stop my Sandtrooper from standing guard in it.
  7. I don't know why I was still thinking of this all being by your ankles. I could use one of those wraps if you're offering. I'd really only need one because only my right shin spins on me.
  8. I'm confused... Where on your leg do you put these wraps?
  9. I've been dealing with this as well. I've got foam on the inside but not enough to keep it from rotating. Any more foam in there will make it tough to close on the back. One solution I read about was what Woodman mentioned but I don't know if I want to use snaps. I like the idea of velcro on the outside of the boot and inside of the shin piece but how did you attach the velcro to the boot? I can't imagine a needle getting through the boot to sew it and although the industrial velcro is REALLY sticky I don't see that staying on the boot either. It's one of those things that when I wear my armor I keep thinking, "Man I need to fix that because it bugs me" but once I'm done trooping it goes back on the mannequin and I keep putting it off.
  10. All this time we thought you were slaving in an overheated workshop using dangerous power tools producing all this greatness just to learn it's all Magic?!? ... Still, well worth the price. Keep up the awesomeness Woodchuck!
  11. Nomax flight gloves it is. Thanks guys!
  12. I might have missed this in another thread but I was wondering what a good alternative to the black rubber gloves might be? I like the look of the rubber gloves but they just get too hot (especially for Florida). I was looking online but it's hard to tell what would work. Any thoughts?
  13. Woodchucks work is NO JOKE!! The guys got a gift, and you can tell he takes pride in what he makes.
  14. This seems to be a recurring theme when it comes to Cushmann products. It took a really long time for me to get my E-11 and when I got it I was really let down with the quality. I wanted to return it but figured it wouldn't be worth the time or effort. For my money (and service) slavefive and sci-fire are the way to go. Just my 2 cents

Well if you find you're running out of room I can take some of that stuff off your hands for you . Best of luck.
  16. That's just not right!! Our Commanding Officer shouldn't have a clean set of armor! Tell you what, when you're done with the build send it to me, we can delete this thread, and we'll forget the whole thing ever happened...

I just used thin cabinet quality plywood, a drill, a jigsaw, and a handheld power sander. The design looks more complicated than it actually is. Eight straight lines and five circles. I had never used a jigsaw for something like this but a little patience and a new blade and the cuts were really easy. Once the design was on the plywood you just follow the lines with the jigsaw working from the inside out. I saw your collection, you sure you have room for anything else?!
  18. WOW That's a lot of SW stuff. I'm gonna keep this thread handy when my wife tells me that MY office is getting too cluttered with collectibles . I'm actually just jealous.

Thanks. I thought of doing something like that but it's actually a window in the front of the house and I like being able to see out of it and it would look odd from the outside if I covered up the window.

I forgot to attach a cover letter didn't I? You might want to send me that memo again
  21. All of my SW stuff is in my office and I had been wanting to do more with the space besides displaying my collection. This past weekend we decided to take a couple sheets of plywood and see what we could come up with and here it is.. The panels on the wall are boxes that have LED lights in them and provide ambient lighting so the slots light up just as they do o the death star. The window would look a lot better if it were a picture window, but changing that out wasn't in the budget Not bad for $60 of material, a couple coats of paint, and a days worth of work...
  22. Your quest for screen accuracy is amazing... Crazy, but amazing.
