  1. That's a recast of TE's SFS Fibreglass helmet and a very poor warped one at that. Ben
  2. Paul- there is a difference between helping people and being arrogant.Im sure nobody wants to see you not helping people as you have so much to give the less knowledgable. Ben
  3. Mr_hair- seeing as you've stated your a rookie don't sweat on it too much. I think your armor looks fantastic in all other areas. You should be proud how far you've come with it. Just give RS an email and explain your mistake. I'm sure they would be happy to help you and even mark the inner and outer parts so you get it spot on this time. Paul- your condescending attitude towards other members still amazes me. I know your one of the most knowledgable people on trooper stuff but it doesn't give you the right to treat other members like they are less because of it. I used to respect you but your attitude towards others in recent times has made me lose that respect.I don't dislike you but your attitude leaves a sour taste. Ben
  4. You can't go wrong with either mate. Both are awesome. It just depends on whether you want armor cast (with a few flaws)from the original or armor sculpted like the original.if I were you though I would wait for the EFX. If you fit in its size range that is. But it will be the final word in armor by the looks of it.
  5. Whatever guys I'm no troll. I've been into troopers for way over 10 years now.Paul knows who I am. If you must know I identified the set for stun helmet and also the ESB patch helmet on screen. I just find Paul's comments sometimes condescending towards anyone who says his armor is not the best and that's all.Point being that Paul asked for clarification as second time and said he will prove him wrong. Meaning he's not even open to debate.I'll leave it at that. Ben
  6. Ok then.Shape wise your armor is pretty close. Surface texture wise your armor is nowhere near the original armor. There are lumps and bumps you can map all over the original armor and not just on the surface but on each edge of armor pieces. The helmet alone has thousands of bumps on the cap/back, faceplate and also various bumps on the ears.Imposisble to replicate without recasting an original.I think RS has done a great job considering what they had to work with was incomplete armor pieces and a suit that has showed age by some peices flattening out over time. Also the fact that they couldn't pull peices apart to cast. The suit I have from the boys is their prototype and contains doubled parts and the surface texture just like their original and flattened parts as I didn't want any alterations. If your wondering, then no it's not me speaking out against your armor. I like your armor and think that if people choose it over the RS then thats fine. But it seems as soon as somebody says RS is better you get all defensive.A true artist lets his work speak for itself. Ben
  7. Hahahaha I can tell you the difference between a screen suit and a TM. The TM has nothing to do with a real suit.Period. It's a fan suit and nothing more. And the biggest thing I notice straight away even with my eyes half closed is that the TM is way over defined and way sharper than any screen suit. Yes there are issues with the RS but even if it is 5% accurate that's still more lineage than your suit will ever have. Also I've followed ALL the changes in your suit over the years. Yes I've watched from the very begging and it's funny how various things have changed to match the RS suit recently. I have no interest in arguing with you over it and i like your suit but I just don't like the way you look down on people who know less. Yes your knowledgable about troopers but you remind me of TE sometimes especially when a bit of competition comes along.
  8. I think the ballpark price is awesome. Your going to get everything either cast from or copied(fabric parts and boots etc) from the original ANH suit all in one box. The perfect replica ANH stormtrooper. A couple of years ago I only dreamed of having true ANH cast armor, soon I will have 2 suits. One stunt and one hero. Exciting times indeed.
  9. That's exactly what I got and Rob was very kind to give me what I wanted. Its always been my belief that any mods no matter how good bring the replica back towards a fan interpretation. What I have is a suit from their first prototype molds without any mods at all. The final suits that most buy have some mods here and there and the curve put back in the ab and chest plate.I don't know how but my shoulders from the prototype molds are bigger than the final suits and it's something I noticed right away. Paul I was saying that comment at you with tongue in cheek if you know what I mean. The reason being is you sometimes come off like a certain other personality in the hobby and self proclaimed expert. I believe nobody is an expert at troopers as there are so many discrepancies just between the suits in the LFL archives. The suits were so rushed they were a mess and no 2 were really the same. Anyway I'm sorry for derailing too Rolf
  10. Oh and Rolf your armor looks perfect mate. The best sand trooper ever in My opinion. You really have a knack for getting things to look right and your weathering is superb. Ben
  11. Maybe you should start your own forum with just yourself as a member seeing as your so disappointed with everyone on every other forum.Your armor is awesome but I can pick things wrong with it too. The butt plate is exact to how simons is now. Meaning its slightly flattened but it really isn't hard to bend forward.I brought an unmodified replica of Simons original as I wanted no alterations and everything kept in its place. Yes some parts have lost a little shape but that's a very minor thing in my mind to having actual Anh cast armor. I've lined up my replica parts with extensive photos of every one of Simons original parts and things line up 95% of the time. I'm planning on getting a restored replica as well so I can have the best of both worlds. Ben
  12. Awsome I can`t wait to see you wearing it. Cheers, Ben
  13. Cool. Has a nice natural cracking paint effect to it.I bet that would be impossible to acheive on purpose. Cheers, Ben
  14. Well here is my most prized possesion.A Fibreglass copy of the "Set for stun" Stormtrooper helmet. When I opened the postage box to reveal this little beuty my jaw literally hit the floor. You may think this helmet looks awsome in the pics but in the flesh it really is gorgeous and remarkably true to the original. The details are so much sharper and more defined than other helmets and I`m so in love with it This helmet is made of very well laid fibreglass which is about a quarter inch thick.I would say it would be very hard to break. It really is very solid feeling when you hold it. Well I`m now off to stare at it again.Enjoy the pics Cheers, Ben
  15. Guess I was wrong.I was going by the fact that my version I had a few years ago had seperate ears and no metal tag on the inside.I bought mine in 2002. Cheers, Ben
  16. I`m pretty sure that version has the ears molded in.It was the later versions without the metal numbered plate on the inside that had seperate ears. Cheers, Ben
  17. Wow thats great news.Glad to hear your ok and good one to TE for getting through to make sure your ok. Cheers, Ben
  18. Man that sucks. I hope Guns and family are ok and anyone else living there.Doesn`t it seem like there are more natural disasters these days?Scary thought. Ben
  19. Keith's hovi mix helmet mic tips are the best money can buy!!! T I second that. You will never find better than Keiths Ben
  20. That`s a nice kit Also that "S" shaped trim is accurate for the bottom(neck)trim. Cheers, Ben
  21. Personally I love the fact that it`s a one peice build as it gives exact assembly of the original, down to the very last millimetre. If you started messing with stuff like the brow trim then you would have to alter the shape of the front of the helmet as the faceplate and cap are separated by the brow trim.It could be done but could also mess up a **** fine helmet.Just look at the oakley crap for an example. Apart from the bumps(which are more subtle on the set for stun helmet than TE`s first.) this helmet would look identical sitting next to the original.Besides we already have plenty of cast from original vac-formed helmets. It`s time for something new. Cheers, Ben
  22. Here`s some more pics of my TE bumpy cap/back. Hope you like them. Cheers, Ben
