  1. How was the no.47 humbrol gloss paint applied on the original prop fieldpacks? Seeing as though the original armour was hand painted with regular dulux white gloss paint, do you think the blue parts of the pack were painted with a brush, or sprayed? Spraying would most probably give a better finish, but maybe painting by brush would be more screen accurate. The humbrol paint comes in quite small tins, I could thin it and spray it through my airbrush. This would make it go farther. But I did buy a couple extra tins in a larger size so that's not really an issue. How has everybody else done theirs?
  2. My armour is not finished yet. I have to add canvas shoulder straps, maybe belt, ab plate buttons, lewis blaster and fieldpack. These pictures are a bit out of date, so the lines you see in the trapaziods are no longer there. They have been replaced with decals although, i'm thinking of taking them off and painting them in. This is how my weathering stands at the momment. So far I have only used black, but I think I will add some browns and sand tones soon. I like the grimy look for that star wars style. I used artists oil colour. Just painted it into the recesses and then wiped it off and smudged and moved it around. Because it's oil based paint, it takes a couple of days to dry, so you always have time to keep perfecting it. I think it needs alot more weathering. At the momment it looks about as dirty as an Endor trooper or Biker Scout.
  3. that looks really cool mate. Is that based on an old skool style davros, or the one from the new show?
  4. Hi, I'm Alex from Bristol UK. I've had Stormtrooper armour for a couple of years now but never got around to using it. I joined thne UKG forum in order to get the ball rolling. The first thing I did when I got my armour was to get it really dirty. I'm not really a fan of the clean look. I am most of the way through my Sandtrooper conversion and am currently building my first Fieldpack. (I'm sure i'll be bugging you all for tips soon!) After that I have to tackle the Lewis gun (wish me luck). I am also new to Bikerscout.net and currently have Biker armour on order (Which I will also get very dirty as soon as I can!) I have been watching this forum as a guest for a few weeks and look forward to joining in and picking everyones brain when it comes to my costume. Alex
