  1. In the news the young man involved has received a caution for his efforts. Pretty bad result if you ask me but it is also reported that the guy in the predator suit and the girl and her parents didn't want to make formal complaints. As a police officer myself it disturbs me a little because I would make every effort to ensure they did if it was my job. Disgusting behaviour, but unfortunately typical of today's youth culture. The only thing that an be relied on is their stupidity in publishing themselves all over the internet so we can find them. Nick
  2. Guys, I really appreciate your kind words on here. Unfortunately there will be no changing of my mind. This boils down to me becoming bored of the whole thing and losing my interest. It's not down to any personalities on here I love you guys this has been like my second home on the net for the last few years and this is a great place to come with great people, however my last troop, apart from the time spent with my MEPD/Britannia Patrol brothers, I just didnt feel the joy that I felt before, and with that gone there really is no point in keeping over £1500 invested in a load of plastic armour that otherwise would be locked in the loft. I cannot afford another set of armour and the time spent away from my family while trooping is no longer viable due to the fact that my wife works full time as well as me and she travels around alot. So it has boiled down to a few things being piled on top of each other. Thanks again guys Nick
  3. It is with a lot of sadness towards my MEPD brothers and sisters that I must inform you all of my decision to leave the costuming world. It has been a tough decision but it stems from problems within my Garrison coupled with the need to free the money invested in the armour and that the hobby has become way too expensive to hold my interest any longer. I feel that I have achieved what I set out to do when I was a small boy and that was to have stormtrooper armour and I have many great memories and photos to remind me of the days. I am still trooping one last time at Legoland Windsor in May with my boys from Britannia Patrol and that will be a great weekend. I would like to thank everyone who has given me help and support over the years and I wish this detachment, which will remain the best in my eyes, all the luck and success in the galaxy. Many regards Nick Black TD-5884
  4. What an absolute load of tosh. Sooner we find another inhabitable planet I'm off this rock. The planet earth has gone bonkers. Nick
  5. Sorry guys Thanks for all the offers but I'm not doing this anymore. Nick
  6. Awesome job Daz. Really well done. Nick
  7. Thanks Marcus. My ideas are coming together in my head. Watch this space. Nick
  8. Rick, This is a great idea. If we can narrow down exactly which trooper can be considered as which then it will make things alot easier. Although we have only had about 4 or 5 specific troopers replicated for SWAT so far, and there are at least 30 different variants I can think of off hand. It will be a fun thing to work towards. Nick
  9. That looks much better. Well done good job. Nick
  10. 20 Brad. It says it in the title mate! Good job you're not employed for your ability to notice the smallest of things isn't it......oh wait!!! Nick
  11. I would say yes mate. Plus it might pay to make the black lines less prominant (thinner). Nick
  12. Frame isnt a problem, neither is the siphon or the mortar tube (as I can get these from B&Q.) I can get styrene for the radio and tool box no problem. I can also get the bottles and think I have a source for the bowls/cups/dishes/mushroom caps too. End Caps and TD panel would be one that I would have to spend out on, as well as the seed trays, but I am going to try and do the seed trays from cat litter trays or similar to reduce the costs, unless someone has got some spare. I might try and tap up Nathan for some freebies. Thanks for all the kind offers guys its really appreciated, lets hope that this comes to light and we get a cool prop for our troops. Next all we need is a DEWBACK. Nick
  13. Awesome Brad those are some of the parts I will need to get so that would be SWEEET mate thank you x Nick
  14. Awesome Simon. I might approach you for that at some point. I'm basically just gonna shove whatever I think would look good into the bits. I want to make it look accurate but be cutaway in major parts. It should be fun. Nick
  15. Something I have been thinking about doing for a while now, and Dave Marsden recently told me that the RPF have offered to display some stuff at the National Space Centre Star Wars weekend in September has spurred me towards maybe trying to make it a reality. What I want to do is make a cutaway backpack that can be mounted onto a back board and shows what the "Real" backpack might actually do. I would also put some labels on it and have a legend on the side with information about what it does. Was thinking to maybe try and either battery or mains power it also with lights and sounds. I will be doing this myself, but if anyone wants to help out please feel free to do so. My thoughts at the moment are to make a quarter size version as well to go alongside it fully finished. SO if anyone has any backpack parts that they could do without (especially UK Guys) please give me a shout as I will need to gather some bits together for it. I'll also be using foam, styrene and electrical components to create the "guts" as well from all sorts of things I can find lying around. This is gonna be fun and I hope I can get it done before Sept. Nick
  16. That is absolutely brilliant I was glued to my little tiny phone screen for that. Excellent work. Nick
  17. Just wanted to let everyone know that the facebook page of Britannia Patrol (the official UKG Sandtrooper group of the Mos Eisley Police Department) which was formed in January, has just passed 100 likes. Please pop on and visit us if you have not already liked us. We have some cool pics from Memorabilia on there and will be starting some new fun stuff within the next few weeks in the run up to Legoland in May. http://www.facebook.com/BritanniaPatrol?ref=hl Thanks for visiting. Nick TD-5884
  18. Hey Ruggero I totally agree mate. The bar that has been raised should stay there but knowing the UKG as I do I can see people getting funny about stuff like that. Myself and Brad caused a bit of concern at the weekend at MEM cos we refused to hold our boasters in our left hands like all the other TKs for the parade. We said that Sandies are right handed and I fully expected a reaction but there were just a few grunts. I might be wrong I just wanted to give you the heads up. Nick
  19. Congratulations Oscar really well deserved and welcome to the team. Nick
