  1. Great research Michael. Yes you are correct, but the pack is certainly not Move along. I have the same headache with the Black Pauldron trooper from the Alley check scene, because he is also present in the outside docking bay 94 with a similar setup to the alley, and then changes for inside the docking bay. The same will apply to your guy here I suspect. Nick
  2. Mitch, Lovely research on this mate. I wanted to post earlier but wanted to check my details first. This is NOT the Move along pack. One small detail that can be seen from the screenshot proves this. Look at how short the mortar tube is. Now the black pauldroned trooper behind him appears to have the same Move Along pack that is seen in the alley check scene with the black lower trays. You can tell by the placement of the large box on the left top seed tray. Same as this pack So I think your guy is this guy Who has this pack
  3. Thanks everyone. Finished article now with the sling and rear sight complete. It's also had a light covering of black and some weathering.
  4. I cut the front and rear off the scope and then drilled and dremelled until I could see all the way through (from a particular angle). Then reattached the front and rear and bondoed the gaps.
  5. Yes indeed mate it was actually brass painted and then used some candle wax painted on in key places before the black. Then scraped off the wax and did a bit more scraping around the edges et voila!!!
  6. Nice Juan. You won't be disappointed. Look forward to seeing your results. Nick
  7. Very true. And on the flip side of that, not everyone has to join MEPD or become SWAT. So if some mods are required and people don't agree with them or like them, there is no pressure, they will still be Sandtroopers of the 501st Legion.
  8. Understandable Brian and thanks for responding. I guess because I understand it I forget that other people don't. I don't know how much clearer it can be made though that this isn't including basic 501st Sandtrooper acceptance.
  9. Brian, appreciate your input here but you've posted the same spiel on almost every thread stating that this change would not be allowed for basic requirement, but most, if not all the changes that have been suggested, are referring to the Police Officer and SWAT programs only. And not basic 501st acceptance. This is another thing that gets me about this with people getting their panties in a bunch saying that people are going to be scared away from doing a TD. NO-one has ever suggested (as far as I'm aware) any of these major changes to the "MEPD" Crl as being for standard 501st acceptance of a costume. They are only for the "optional" MEPD Police Officer and SWAT programs that no one is forced to enter.
  10. Get a backpack or Bergen cover. A nice desert camo will do the trick nicely.
  11. It certainly is over this side of the pond. We have 6 members now I think who have got one of these frames and are updating their packs.
  12. Haha I wish juan. No alas mate I mean the difference between the low detail fake radio as seen on the alley check trooper.
  13. Of course the pack I'm going to replicate is the same as the last one I posted, the "alley check black pauldron" and as such I'll be replicating the fake radio on his pack. I'll probably have my sonix on for troops though.
  14. I've not finished yet, the lower trays haven't been painted just primed with grey primer
  15. But when you look at these references there's not much bend at all In fact this is a clear shot showing the frame to be the same as the one I'm using here
  16. Yes I was planning to bend it a little, but on the references the only pack that has the extreme bend angle is the move along pack to be honest. Myself and Ruggero spent many hour trying to figure out why the bend angle was more in that pack.
  17. Troopermaster has a Facebook page as Troopermaster. Like it and send him a message through there.
  18. Someone asked about references for this pack frame and I'm going to borrow from some graphics that Scott (Ghost) has already developed here.
  19. Ok guys, sharing this for the sake of helping the community. In the UK we have recently discovered the original backpack frames as used on screen in '76, being the Karrimor tote backpacks. The frame looking like this: Seed trays are fitted across the frame once the bars had been removed and the top section of the frame, above the second bar down, was sawn off, with the top bungs being replaced. Then stripped down and straps removed ready to be painted black. Black paint makes it look great already. A few scratches only add to the authenticity! Stay tuned for more updates as I go along
  20. Not true I'm afraid strider. Scott is emulating the Move Along trooper as seen in the "Falcon Take off"'scene where he is clearly wearing a smaller 3 slot pouch. After extensive research we have identified this pouch as a possibility. Scott, it looks really good mate, about as close as we've seen so far. Nick
  21. Wolfman, you forgot the t-tracks on the barrel.
