  1. Cool thanks Terry I knew u could rely on you! What happens though if I start weathering and it's not right and i have to start again. I'll end up with odd coloured parts surely. Nick
  2. Guys, I was wondering whether armour should be painted or not? I am going to buy ATA ABS armour, which I'm told is the right colour from the off, but I wondered whether it I'd recommended to paint the armour, if so what is the correct colour, and is it OK to spray from a can or does it need to be airbrushed? I'm guessing it would be easier to repair weathering if it went wrong if it is painted! Nick
  3. Wow Brad that looks absolutely fabulous mate well done to you for your hard work. Nick
  4. Just think how good you will feel when you have got it all right and the guys say, "accepted for SWAT" though Jay. This is an immense amount of work you have put in, both yourself smaly, and Rolf have inspired me fully to get my armour up to this standard when I finally get it. Well done to all. Nick
  5. Beautiful. Is that a scratch made Lewis or a cast? Nick
  6. Hello Jay Any chance of pics of insude your lid and how you fit all that inside please? Nick
  7. If you want my advice paint the thing satin black and then dry brush gunmetal model paint over it. Gives a much more metallic feel. It's what I did on mine. Nick
  8. I agree whole heartedly with the above comments. I am not a 501st member yet but I have been lurking around the forums for about 2 years learning and deciding which direction to go. Although the TD is much mor complex and expensive than a TK, I am set on going that way for my build, just because of the individualism of the Sandy from the Stormy. Nick
  9. Can you guys please have a look at these! http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=190261656662&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT I hope those of you not from the UK can see them. They are French Ammo Pouches and look very much like the Large/Medium Spanish Pouch. Now I have been trawling the search function on this page and I see that the consensus is that non screen accurate pouches are considered OK for 501st clearance and possibly for MEPD deployment, but maybe not for SWAT. I wonder how you feel about these pouches, whether they would be good to use as a substitute to get 501st and MEPD cleared until proper pouches can be found, and if they could be made SWAT clearable with some cosmetic work? Any thoughts? Nick
  10. That is spot on, may have to give that a go. Id it in one section or is it detachable for easy transport? May have to do it in 3 sections when I do mine so it's easier. Thanks for sharing that is excellent. Nick
  11. Never mind I just saw the last post. Apologies for the pointless post. Many thanks Nick
  12. Hello guys I have searched the forums on here alot and have come across some very great information on what to use for the backpack. I was hoping that I could use cat litter trays, to try and keep my costs on making the backpack down as low as possible, but they are just not deep enough and so I think I will have to get the seed trays. Does anyone know where I could get some from? I think I have pretty much everything else covered, but I may be back here in the future to seek out some of the more intricate pieces. I am trying my hand at doing the whole thing, or as much of it scratch build as I can. Many thanks Nick
  13. OK we're done with my T-21 finally. After a few months of working on it when I can I have got around to finishing the paintscheme and adding the barrel grip and sling. Have a look and let me know what you think. Many thanks to PandaTrooper for his easy to follow tutorial over at FISD. My home made rear sling swivel which turned out really well. Lovely neoprene tube from SealsDirect. Hope you enjoy and hope more people will try and make their own once they see it can be done. Now I have an E-11 and T-21, just need some armour at some point. Nick
  14. Oh cool mate, that's great to know. Was it any good? It seems to me that the neoprene one is the cheapest, and I have worked out that I need about 12mm thickness I think. Cheers for the help. Nick
  15. Hiya folks, Just wondering if anyone on here who is based in the UK, has any idea where to source rubber trim for use as the grip tubing on the Barrel of the T-21. I want to use this as it is more accurate than flexible guttering pipe, and I thought I'd be able to find some D-shaped door trim or something from Halfords, but they don't seem to do it anymore. I've found this site http://www.sealsdirect.co.uk/bbCMS/shopping.asp?intDepartmentId=1 that sells something that may be suitable, but have no idea which would be suitable. Anyone any ideas? and anyone know roughly how much length I'd need? Anyone who has one give me any good ideas? Thanks in advance Nick
