  1. Wow, cutting in to the ab plate is usually the last thing some people do, as it's really a point of no return, but you dived right in! Welcome to the dirt-side - good to have you with us!
  2. Bill - please list me as a prospective customer when you're ready to sell these bad boys. Seeing Tony with his has given me BFG envy....
  3. Truly outstanding photos Tony - you guys set a high bar and I hope that someday us Seattle sandy's do as well. I'm sure you'll strike fear into the hearts of all rebels that dare cross your paths...
  4. Yeah, I'm saving my pennies for whoever has bought the TE molds too - I was too late to get in on that party. I've been pretty happy with my AP helmet. There was a delay in shipping due to bidpay and he was nice enough to cut out the mouth vents for me gratis in exchange. The helmet came fully pre-drilled so assembled in 15 minutes. The only negatives are than the chin piece is integrated into the helmet which can be hard to paint by hand, and the weather strip for the neck rim doesn't fit easily. Aside from these small quips, it's a great looking lid and I've received many compliments on mine.
  5. Lots of good info here: http://www.sandtrooper.net/forum/viewforum.php?f=5
  6. =) I´m sorry, but I don´t undertsand what do you really mean with that, I guess is a joke, but really I don´t get it Confused We're referring to the fact that sandtroopers have a different sniper (knee) plate than regular stormtroopers. See http://www.sandtrooper.net/mepd/require/pa...20Knee%20plates for what we mean. You can make your own or buy one from ArsonSmith. The ab plate is below that. Can't recall where the tutorial for this was (there really aren't many). You can buy a ab plate with the modified stomach plate (see knee plate above), or just mod the ab plate you have.
  7. I think it's great! The 1/2 pouch is just the right size for stuff like keys, which really isn't a good fit in most pouches.
  8. No need for name calling, I'm sure he's planning on adding dirt and getting rid of that funny sniper plate in the immediate future. Um, you are, aren't you? That's one serious MG-15 - the "shock and awe" factor is fantastic!
  9. Received! They'll go out this Sat at the latest. Getting FX is easy, making it dirty is even easier. It's the backpack/BFG that will take up your time. Glad to her you love the dirt. I think many folks had second thoughts before cutting in to the ab plate or applying the dirt, but once there don't know anyone who regretted making the plunge.
  10. Sorry, I meant $16 total, which will include shipping. Ugh - Almost overcharged you there! Paypal to feibao@gmail.com please. I can get it in the mail Saturday if payment's received by that morning. Will this be quick enough for you?
  11. How about $16 (covers PayPal) + shipping? Shipping should be pretty cheap, just a padding envelope and a few stamps. The "green tape thing" is a rectangular piece of thin green plastic with adhesive at each end. It's what you get with some ANH helmets and is supposedly what they used on in ANH to cover the eyes. For my preference, I found it not secure enough & not dark enough so went with acrylic lenses from Got*Armor. That said, I think someone else on this board has used it and likes it, so I guess it's a pref thing.
  12. I checked my extras folder and here is what I have that I can part with: Two (2) sets of FX sandtrooper decals, including the blue tube stripes made by Molineux. I paid £10 per set, which works out to $17.65 set. Looks like the going price on EBay for basic FX decals is $15+shipping. Would that be fair (Molineux are supposed to be more accurate in color). One (1) set of ANH stormtrooper decals, including blue tube stripes. These came with my ANH bucket but I've never used them. Any reasonable offer accepted. I also have one of those green tape things used as eye coverings for some AP helmets. This I can send at $0.00 + shipping. If you want to do PayPal, please include their surcharge bit in the cost.
  13. Yes, the set I have are decals and I got them from Molineux. Can't recall if they're FX or not (though I believe they are) - will check when I get home tonight and reply either way. Hand painting is certainly the way to go if you have the talent - would have gone that route myself if I did. Um, and I also have some extra Hunbrol Grey #5 I can part with too...
  14. I may have an extra set - is yours an ANH or FX?
  15. Congratulations Mike - I can certaily understand the need for a brew right about now (from your sig). Glad we were able to get you out last week when we did, and look forward to meeting your newest addition in the future. You have all our best wishes, Paul, Lisa, and Kelly
  16. PM sent. Lookin' sweet - can one have too many firearms?
  17. Great pictures guys! Having a distribution amongst the team does a great job in creating a more stunning visual impact. We've discussed doing the same thing (distribution), though with only three TD's it's not so hard. It's a glorious site to see > 1 sandy at a time - very inspiring!
  18. No need to apologize in this (replica) gun happy forum, especially when it's the *last* thing you need. Been there mate! Bill - I think you have another hit on your hands (I'm not in the market for a Lewis, so it's not sucking up )! Tony - you'll simply have to post pix once you have it assembled and ready to report for duty!
  19. Always great to finally get that "official" status, isn't it? Now you have to post some pix, esp. as you make your journey to TD-land. At one time getting a TK seemed like an end goal, now you realize it's just the beginning of a very fun journey...
  20. Yeah, I've noticed that on mine as well. I think it comes from the size containers I used as the two large boxes, with the frame having to be big enough to accomodate them.
  21. By all things holy - that's beautiful! If you were to sell such an artifact what would it go for? Reason I ask is I have a beautiful resin job, but it's very fragile to troop with / breaks easily.

    Don't ask

Hey, isn't that Brokeback Mountain in the distance? Oh c'mon guys, the butt plate is still on. It's clearly a still from that training video we saw in basic back on Camino about evacuating a fallen comrade.
  23. Are there qualitative differences between the EBay guys?
  24. Proper attitude, mate. The barrier is high, but that's what makes the MEPD so special, and so fulfilling once achieved.
