  1. Lee, As Nick has stated, the T76 group and accreditation are not part of the 501st at all. They are an independent group with similar interests than those of the MEPD. And somehow, we share some history. But it is now very well stated who is who. We, over the CS of the MEPD decided to allow the T76 group to promote their page and idea in this post cause we feel there is no conflict or opposed interests. Anyway, we must remember that the only levels approved by the 501st CRL are legion level, PO and SWAT. But, the T76 does strive for a different kinds of accuracy and that is what they reward. As members, you are encouraged to go all the way you feel, either it being basic, PO or SWAT. And even try T76 if you feel like it, just knowing and understanding what it is about and what that reward means. As a growing community, the MEPD is here to help you out have the best experience in your journey to being the best Sandtrooper you can, and of course, that you want. Hope this helps making this more clear. Saludos.
  2. Just to make some issues clear, copying this from my own post on another thread. ------- Just want to clarify that the Tunisia 76 and acrditation are not official part of the 501st or the MEPD. So, the acrditation is not an official level 4 on the CRL. However, foundimg members of the group are alsso mebers of our community andthe 501st Legion. We, over the MEPD, should consider this new community as a new, optional and extra way to go further with our builds and hobby for anyone willing to do it, outside the MEPD or 501st. This facebook page and community shares a lot of their ideals and interests with the MEPD, and of course, share members. It is just not the same thing. I think of this as a sort of the expandend universe of this hobby and this community. Where many other sites, groups and communities share and exist simply to provide a wider and broader horizon for us, sandtrooper armor enthusiasts. We can embrace it just as we have embraced other sites and communities under a big idea where being a sandtrooper, and being open and welcoming is what bring us together. Lets share our work, ideas and enthusiasm over here, as well as we can do it over there and anywhere. There is room for all... And we are all together here or there. We are Sandtroopers from the MEPD, and we welcome new challenges just as we welcome new ideas and members in what is slowly starting to bcome an extended sandtrooper community in an extended sandpit. Lets keep on sharing this hobby, this comunity and the passion of being the best sandtroopers we can be. Saludos Juan
  3. Some might remember, some not, but a few years ago the HWT had the TD designation... But, they had no actual place here in the detachment site, or the detachment back story. So.. after a long hot debate, we were able to have the TD designation assigned only to Sandtroopers. It was more about the history and achievements of the MEPD as the detachment for Sandtroopers, and having the TD designation more associated with Sandtroopers than with any other kind of troopers. I think that, if those troopers get called Sandtroopers in the movie, or even on toys, we might have to accept them here. If they are not, we might have a case to keep them off this place and into the FISD. Nothing personal. But Sandtroopers, TDs and MEPD are concepts that, thanks to this detachment, are bigger and larger than any CRL designation. Saludos.
  4. Those are all real pouches right? Except the MP40s... Those are from Imperial Outfitters right? I still need to find a real medium Spanish pouch. Been looking for about 4 years now, and no luck. Terry had one for sale 4-5 years ago, I passed on it, and then when I changed my mind, it was already sold. Too bad... Haven't seen one ever since. Someday... Just like the radio. LOL... Saludos
  5. Happy Bday boss! Hope you have a great day with your boys! Later tonite, Ill have a beer in your honor! Saludos!

  7. Ok... here you go: This are some old and older threads, so many of the picts are gone, but most of the info is there. 1. My shaping and ageing MP40s thread. Just a warning, dont put your pouches in hot water or they will shrink. Just warm. http://forum.mepd.net/index.php?showtopic=7178 2. These are examples of how Woodman did his: http://forum.mepd.net/index.php?showtopic=7533 http://forum.mepd.net/index.php?showtopic=7544 3.This is how I modified, dyed and aged my canvas MP38/40 http://forum.mepd.net/index.php?showtopic=5511 4.And this is how Woody did his: http://forum.mepd.net/index.php?showtopic=7530 Now, there are of course other techniques and examples. This are just some of the ideas and techniques where we started out. Most ways troopers do it today, are either improvements to these techniques, or reinterpretations. Use them as a guide, and do some more research (over the pouch forum or the SWAT threads). They are not all exactly step by step tutorials. But you will get the idea. Needless to say, both my pouches and Woodys are up to SWAT standard. Hope it helps. Let me know it you need anything else. Saludos PS. You will find pictures of my pouches and more detailed description at my blog, for the lack of picts here... www.mylifeasastormtrooper.blogspot.com
  8. Those are great pouches... For the leather MP40, have you shaped it yet? If not, you just need to put them in warm water (not hot) and soak them wet. Roll them and unroll from side to side in all directions to make leather soft. Then insert wood blocks the size of ammo clips and shape them with a wooden spoon. Make them square. Leave the wood blocks in until they dry. Then, once dry, just use a medium to fine grit sandpaper to mark a bit of the edges. You can then just toss them and kick them around on the street so that they get a bit damaged and aged. Also, add some dirt to them. You should end up with a cool old look pouch. Similar treatment for the roadblock one... just, don't put them in water as they do not have the shape of the clip as the MP40s. For the pauldron, just use whatever pigment you are using for your armor... or just add dirt and seal it with hairspray. Dirt or paint should gather up naturally on the pauldron gaps and seams... This is how I did mine. It is kindof like aging it with the fast forward button push down. Ill try to find the links for you in a min... Saludos.
  9. Which pouches, make and material, do you have? And, what look do you want to achieve? Weathering pouches might have different approaches depending on the materials. There are a few toturials or at least illustrative threads about that. Let me know what type are you working with, and I can do some digging in the forum for you. Saludos.
  10. There is still at least 1 unidentifiable pouch in the movie. It seems to be a larger one, similar to the canvas MP38-40 but curved. But until we don't have proof. It is just a midterm left to be solved. Anyway, yes, pretty much all the pouches worn on the belt seem to be leather. But using this mp38-40 canvas would get you cleared for TD status at least. Saludos.
  11. Just to make sure, are you attaching that pouch to your belt? If so, yes, adding new loops or modifying those would be a solution. If you were to attach them to your backpack strap, just run the strap through the loops as they are. Saludos.
  12. Is that a real used pouch Ryan... Looks like it. If it was, I would keep it as is, and maybe get a replica of an MP40 and modify it. Keeping the real one for its historic value. Anyway, as said, Inguess with enough modifications you could get basic clearance, and maybe even PO status... But that would need much more mods tha. Dying it black. Saludos.
  13. THX Eric. Looking forward to taking this detachment and the Legion even further. Saludos.
  14. You are already making big collaborations here, with your modeling and with ideas, suggestions and discussions. And that the main thing here... to be part of the community by participating in any way you want/can. Good luck with your radio faceplate project. I am always hunting for the next more accurate part! Saludos
  15. Ill have to get the back up from home... Ill try to get it and post it latter tonite or tomorrow. Saludos.
  16. Hey Scott, I don't think there is something like you mention. I do have a spanish language file made for the Mexican Garrison, if you want it. It is a PDF file. Let me know and I will look for it in my back up disk... Saludos
  17. Good job bro! That stinger looks awesome! Thx for sharing. Saludos
  18. No prob my friend. I send you some info a few months/year ago... don't know if you got it. Ill bump it on the PM section... give me a min to dig it up. And, of course, any help or info I can provide, it will be my pleasure to do it! Just let me know. Saludos.
  19. Hey bro... It sometimes just gets a bit slow over here. Don't be disappointed. So, a couple questions... How big a difference would it be with the regular faceplate? Would there be any creative allowances to make it more functional? I would think that the original real faceplate would have to be sound friendly, considering it is a speaker... so I would love to see/understand why the original sculpts would not be already ready for sound going though, or how this new idea of yours would improve any sound capability. Something else to consider, many of us here are still looking for the real radio. So, making it more accurate and real looking/working might be a better addition than making it just better working. Anyway, good luck with your project bro. Even if it is just one instead of two faceplates. Saludos.
  20. Nice! I saw the pictures on your facebook page. It just looks amazing. I will be following your progress! This will be an epic build no doubt. Saludos
  21. I can still see the zigzag like shape of what looks like a tube on that shot. Weird... And yes, so many hours put in this kind of things by so many people... this is crazy. And I love it! Saludos
  22. Yes, that looks diferent from the other. So, more arguments to back the theory that this is not a part, just something they put in the place of the handguard. But that we knew. Interesting. Saludos
  23. Nice! Hopefully Bob will get back to you... He downloaded the picture of his sonix, or changed the description, cause now it wont appear on google anymore. LOL... Also, he never got to reply to my messages. Saludos
