Man! As I said over the FISD, this is just amazing! To many emotions fill me to even write properly. I made a quick search on google, and yes! I very easily found where you found it. Or at least I think that was the place where you got it from: Subito.it Isnt it?? It was not my top result, but was merely on the 2nd page, hidding among all the recurrent sites with the radio info we always find. It was not that difficult. Lots of luck bro! And... with a little italian interpretation and a bit of patience, I think I even found some info on the post and I can only say I am really envious of you Tony! You are a lucky guy!! As I said in other threads, I cant believe I missed it. I pretty much search at least 4 days a week for the radio online... So does many others, I guess that being it in italian and just besides results from readiomuseum, many replicas for sale, the MEPD and my own blog, we all missed it! Good thing for everyone you didnt! I read you commented about your welcome here over the MEPD... please, dont take it the wrong place. As I mentioned, many many people have spent several thousand hours researching and serching for this radio for at least 10 years. One surfaced over new year, and now there is another. This osrt of things dont just happen... ever. And in the past others have claimed to find one but they never actually delivered... so yeah, its hard to believe it at first. But pictures are up, and even if we cant see it or touch it for real, that is more than enough for this community to mark this day as a very very special day! thx for sharing. You talked about not being yet 501st and awaiting for a TM armor... is there any way we can talk you to built a Sandtrooper and not a shinny whitey? Welcome to the community, and hope to welcome you soon to the 501st! Grazie mile for sharing. Saludos Juan

Awesome!! That looks like it could be it. Great finding! Now lets find a real one. Saludos.

Actually, it might be not Japanese. I'll check later. Saludos.

Some time ago I found a Japanese pouch that looked the part except for the tab. My theory back then was that the tab, a triangular one, had fallen off and was replaced with a regular single tab using a new rivet and the stud already on the pouch. I was never able to get one of those to check dimentions and all. But it los possible. If I'm able, I'll look for it later and post it. Saludos.

Pack does look like it was made some time ago with requirements from that time. But, besides the radio faceplate, it sure could pass the CRL for police officer. Now, I am sure that after some research you will find how easily you could modify it to be more accurate. And even would say that you will want to do it just to keep up with the resent research and looks the community over here has advanced in the last year or two. If you need any help, just let us know. We will gladly help you out. Saludos.

Striders Backpack build with found parts
iconoclasta_88 replied to Strider's topic in Field Backpack
I used this kind of bottles for camping for many years when I was in boy scouts. If I do remember corectly, at least back then, the "flat part" was actually a base to keep the bottle standing upright. It was black plastic and could be removed even if not inteded for that. The thing is if you removed it, the bottle would be round just as at the top. Design wise, I guess a pill shape was needed to keep the pressure within safety levels. But then again, AFAIK, in the 70s such bottles were not available for camping, we used other kind of containers, and mostly, just fuel tanks with a pump to pressurize the tank manually. I could be mistaken, but I did not come across that kind of pill tanks in camping equipment until the late 80s or even early 90s. Saludos.- 181 replies

Could it be that the pack with the weird mushroom cap is just a plunger with the extra bit on top not cut off?? Cant find a good picture of that pack ATM to compare it to the plunger... What do you think? Saludos- 181 replies

Striders Backpack build with found parts
iconoclasta_88 replied to Strider's topic in Field Backpack
LOL!! I found an old WC Tank on a sidewalk in London, and had to check if there was a Shires syphon on it... Found out that no, no shires, but yes, a syphon... so I just had to strip the tank down there and then, bare hands, and take the syphon all the way back to my hotel and then home... So yeah, you know that if we need to go through hundreds of vintage used toilet plungers, we wil! Thats what we do, don't we? Saludos- 181 replies

This is amazing. Really didnt expected less from the Sandtrooper master. Not surprised this looks so go, and totally surprised with its awesomeness. If you get what I mean. Congrats bro. Saludos.

Yeah! Looks nice already. Just need to position correctly some parts. And as for the straps, I too used an old backpack's straps. The one thing that I really like and helps me keep the load off my shoulders is the across chest strap. That I wear under the chestplate. Lots of help to carry the heavy pack! Saludos.

Looking good. I think you are doing great for a start. There is some trimming you will need to do down the road to get a better look, specially talking about teeth and ears, but also some other parts will need some work to make them fit better. But, you will get there no doubt. As others stated, the butt and strip is the way to go, and you might be surprised what a huge difference it makes on the looks once its done. Let us know if you need some more assistance, ideas, techniques or anything else! We will be more than happy to help you! Saludos.

Cool picture!! Saludos.

Hey Paul, Looking good bro. I agree with Kirk! You want to have some white showing bellow all that dirt. What really gives the weathering the desired realistic look is to have several layers of dirt forming in different shapes, textures and concetrations... But something that is easily forgotten is that the white layer is also t be shown in some spots to have the armor appear wheathered and not painted. Thighs look good. I would just soften a bit the brown color in the gaps and angles... It looks too brown in comparison to the tan color of the rest of the armor. Just rub of some paint, and paint it again, and rub off, again and again and again... I found that in weathering painting is almost second in importance to rubbing off paint. Saludos.

iconoclasta_88 replied to DarthStevius's topic in MEPD Police Officer Program
Looking real good now bro! You should be cleared no problem. One question here Steve, do you like it better now yourself? We sometimes ask for upgrades and modifications, but not very often we ask if you like your armor better after our input. So, do you? Saludos. -
I wish I had a sterling, and the money to pay for it, and that they were not illegal in Mexico, and that they wouldn't attract unwanted attention from law, military and organized crime. Its such a long way for me. (that's my uncle talking) LOL! Saludos
