  1. Nice! This has to be one of the most spectacular scratch builds I have ever seen! GREAT work... Saludos.
  2. Lol. It Will be a pink helmet and clothes. Black cape, squirt, gloves and shins. Let's see how this turns out and maybe we will be building a Pink TD. Now back to topic. Saludos.
  3. Cool! Wish my daughter wanted to be a TD like her father, but no. I am currently building a "Princess Darth Vader" costume for her. Well... maybe when she grows a bit more. Saludos
  4. This looks like a good start Damian. Good to finally submit your SWAT armor for evaluation. I know you've been working on it for some time now. There seems to be some details here and there, but I am sure Mike will soon give you some stuff to work with. I can see that besides the boots that have been already notice, your pouches will need some mods, specially on the flaps. Also, your belt could be trimmed closer to the boxes... some details on the pack might be in order too. But hey, this isn't a walk in the park after all... but talking the fist step is as important as the following ones. Good luck. Saludos
  5. Nice! Nothing beats original pouches in looks! You will need to modify those if you are going for SWAT. But they look great already. Saludos
  6. Looking quiet good actually. That will do for sure for trooping. And if you perfect the detailing (paint job) you will end up with a pack that even if not completely accurate, very good addition to your TD. Reminds me a bit of my first pack... Good job! Saludos.
  7. Some ppl here have also spray painted their pouches. AFAIK, it works fine. Saludos.
  8. WOW! Your BFG looks awesome so far. VERY IMPRESSIVE! Congrats and keep it up. Saludos.
  9. Finally, this are happening. Thx Eric for starting this and following it all the way until it has been (partially) accepted. This is a great step in making our characters more iconic, and accurate. Saludos
  10. AWESOME!! Congrats brother. Welcome to the SWAT Team! Your commitment, patience and hard work has payed off! You have an awesome Sandtrooper there! Now go a shoot some Jawas, pass on your knowledge and experience and keep on growing this awesome detachment. Saludos.
  11. Yes, I have it on my shoulder. I love that gaffer's tape:) We think that it was a costume malfunctining that was dealt with gaffers tape between shots. You cam see in some frames the elastic showing under the pauldron. That elastic was probably what was supposed to hold up the shoulder bell. I learnt this detail from SirDave. He has it in his shoulder too. I have my whole armor full of little details like that. Gotta love replica costumes. Saluods. Ps. You can see it just a bit on this pict. The tape's square can be seen on the top left side of the shoulder bell.
  12. Hey bro. I had a similar situation with my pouches... Thing is, it was impossible to make them stay black. So i decided to let them stay white. I just put lots of dirt on the pouch including of course the white thread, and they look fine. Old and aged and weathered. The white does not looks odd. Once they look dirty, they will look ok and the weird white color will just fade out. Hope it helps. Saludos.
  13. I wi do some research tomorrow at work and as ppl about post production processes. But in the meantime I guess we could compare the color and how it reacts to different adjustments with the blue on the helmets. That we know is blue. That is a starting point. Or maybe that is where it all comes from. Maybe I just missed that in the past or in recent research/debate. Interesting. Saludos.
  14. So... You are saying that what we have thought to be blue for years, after throwing out the theory that it was gray, is wrong and that it actually is gray bot blue? Does anyone know for sure where does the blue color for the packs came from? And, was Hans trench coat not blue but brown?? I work in advertising and shoot commercials pretty much the same way they shoot movies, I know for sure that almost any color can be turned to any other color by manipulating the optics on the camera or on the rank process afterwards. Not to mention all new coloring in post production. I think the blue must have come from somewhere other than guessing, even educated guessing. Even if the original film strip showed gray or blue, we should try to find other references if the original prop is not available for comparing. I have never seen a picture of the original prop other than during the shooting, in front and behind camera. That would be something! But I guess the packs do not exist anymore. This sounds like a good debate. Saludos.
  15. Don't know for sure Gordon. Can't remember, but that would be a very cool coincidence. I do know he had one of the few replica radios Mike H did. Those were awesome. Rolf got another one too, but he had probably sold it to start a new pack or upgrade it somehow. LOL! Saludos.
  16. Cool! I saw it and did not had the funds to get it... si yes, cool that someone else got it. I will be looking to get one for my pack in the future. But they seem to be quiet scarce. Searching searching... Saludos
  17. WOW! GREAT find! If you have one to spare, I would be really interested! Saludos
  18. Really cool picture! Congrats. Saludos.
  19. Cool. Is anyone getting that canteen from eBay? Saludos.
  20. Great to see you finally start this project bro! Listen to these guys. They now their stuff. As said before, research is the keyword for SWAT. Also, check out all the previous SWAT threads about your specific trooper, as new info and references are found and discuss with every submission. Finally, Mike is right, go for the Police Officer status first, as some specifics might be required for PO but might not allowed for SWAT, as the number of teeth. Post lots of pictures and ask lots of questions. We all will be glad to help. This is the right place to come for all Sandtrooper Stuff... And... Just to want to add a personal note here for everyone to know, this guy, iTrooper, was the one that inspired me to change my TK for a TD years ago with his old battle damaged Sandy. And these guys here over the MEPD, together with lots more, were the ones that taught me and inspired me to build the best armor I could! This community rocks! I am proud to call it my home and you guys my brothers! Saludos
  21. No idea bro. Have you tried the Legion members search engine... try with the user name. Or do the same here... Even if TDs are very different one from another, it is not that easy to say from the top of my mind. Chances are, based in his overall look, that you will find him here. He does look like a MEPD Sandy. Good luck. Saludos
  22. I might have one, actually. Not Trooper 1... but locally made and modded. Let me see... I think I have my old black pauldron... If I do have it, and you like it, and most important, you will use it, I can send it your way if you pay the shipping. Not promising anything, give me a week or so to check out the storage and post picts so you can see if you like it. Saludos.
  23. THX guys! It is weird... I am really excited about this radio, even if I knew from second 2 that it was not the one we need. But then, it looks so close in make, that makes me know for real for the first time, that the real Sonix Victory 75 does exist and it is not a unicorn. Someday I will find it I am sure. And yes Joe, I bought it partially to someday build a mini TD for my daughter... just hope she wants it. LOL... Saludos.
  24. Good to hear you are back on track bro. Patience is something we need to learn in this hobby and I can see you are a patient guy, so... I am sure your TD will come out great. Let us know if we can be of any help. Saludos.
