  1. 5. Paint 6. Straping 7. weathering 8. And then, attached to rubber gloves. I know it is not 100% accurate, specially for the elastic part instead of glueing it to the glove, but... its still a prototype. And Im thinking of someway for me to use it with the rubber gloves and my regular ones too. So, what do you think? Am I going in the right direction? Its home made and I don't have much experience with plastic and other industrial materials.. so... I think it is a good first attempt. Any suggestions? THX... Saludos...
  2. So, inspired by some of the recent proyects on Screen accurate handplates, I decided to try and make a pair for myself... So far, I have mmm acceptable (but not great) results. Heres is the process... 1. I first made the blue prints based on screen caps. 2. Then, used regular kids playing daugh (not play dough, sorry, dont know the real translation could it be plasticine), I made my models. 3. With dentist plaster (dont know if this is the right translation either) I made the molds. 4. Then, I used silicon (hot glue) to fill the cast and make the piece. To be continued...
  3. That looks awesome! Great work Rolf... as always. Saludos
  4. Thanks a lot. It was a cool event and we got filled five cans in a few ours!! Muchas gracias a hermanos! Saludos!
  5. I like it! Looks really cool. I like the weathering a lot! hope you get deployed soon. Saludos
  6. Hey Bro.. here is what I think. But its just an opinion and no fact. It looks like the real radio has two colors on it. A dark blueish grayish color for the faceplate, and a black leatherlike cover for the main body... From the picture I cant tell for sure if Mike used this two colors in his radios, but Im pretty sure that whatever he did, was the correct thing cause... well, we know how Mike works. In this picture, I think its looks like the two colors scheme is showing. A tone of gray for the faceplate, and a tone of darker gray black for the main body. So, anyway, I agree with ppl that have said in other threads that the radio was probably uses as it was, and just attached to the packs due to needing to meet a deadline and production budgets, but the colors and letters dont appear in film cause of technical stuff... So, anyway, what I would do If I had a radio from Mike would be: Use it as it is for now. And if in the future a better reference, fact or even a real Sonix Victory 75 appears, you could always modify it. But thats me. Saludos!
  7. Congrats Bro... All the best for you, your wife and your baby! Saludos...
  8. If you want to be accurate, you can use the filmsy plastic material used as a filter (color) for lighting equipment in film and photography productions. You might find it in pro photography specialized stores. Hope it helps... Saludos
  9. This last weekend the Mexican Garrison helped the Red Cross to collect money in several cities of the country. I joined some other troopers in Mexico City and did our part posing for pictures in exchange of donations... It was a big succes. We filled 5 coin bottles in just a few ours. Here are the pictures.... Saludos!
  10. Thats awesome! Wish I could go treasure hunting too! Does anyone know if there was any secret SW shooting location near Mexico City that I might not be aware of? hehehe... Saludos...
  11. Looks great! I am more a sand guy (of course), but this is really cool! I like a lot the details and paint texture and scratches! Saludos

  13. Thx bro... I will weather the backpack, but just a bit using hairspray and actual dirt probably. Its just that I haven't found the time to do it. Saludos
  14. Thanks bro! It is a lot of fun indeed. I will not be putting together any more backpacks for a while, but Im sure these wont be my last ones... hehe Saludos.
  15. Hey Bro... finally I remember to weight the backpack... mine is almost 2.5 kg. Its not very heavy but this is made with parts from Crashmann... the built from scratch one was hevier. hope it helps. Saludos
  16. A whiel ago I found a TK Mr Potato Head on sale and had to buy it. So with two in my collection, dirt happened! Saludos...
  17. Thx for all your comments! It is really encouraging to hear such things. Most of the improvements on my armor were inspired by the great ppl here and your work... Feel like a student getting good input from my teachers! I will try and take some more pictures in daylight and see how the weathering looks. Thanks a lot bros! And regarding the hair... It is not easy nor comfortable to wear a ANH helmet with dreads. hehe. I had to stuff them around my neck face and the back of my head to hide them. They block the holes on the frown and even seal the bucket's hole, so no air comes in at all. I dont know what Im going to do cause it is impossible to troop like that. Im considering cutting my dreads off anyway. In the meantime, I will have to keep using my old FX bucket for trooping and the TE2 just in special (and brief) events... too bad. Unless, I might find some way to hide them somewhere else... will try the balaclava. Thanks a lot again... Saludos Juan
  18. Ive been working on my armor a lot lately... making big improvements on it. One of the most critical parts as you know, is the weathering. I tried to match the armor to my bucket but it was a bit more difficult than expected. Anyway, I am almost happy with it, I guess once it wears off a little it will be just right for me. I know weathering is a personal thing, but I am nor quite sure if I like it 100% or not. Maybe too yellow, but I think its just in the pictures... I have always liked the less is more approach, but this time I think I went into more is more... hope not too much. Anyway, here it is... What do you guys think? And.... One thing I dont like but fortunately enough it doesnt appear like that in person is the different whites of the bucket and armor... Saludos...
  19. Amazing... Im speechless... Saludos. .o(wish i had one)
  20. Looks amazing bro! Great job on both the bucket and the handguards... Saludos.
  21. OH! Sorry bro! I completely forgot about that. I will weight it today and post later... Just yesterday I took some picts of me wearing it and forgot about weighting it. Sorry again. Saludos.
