  1. yesterday i talked again to a TX member and it appears the HWT is in fact part of the TX det. I´ll check in with those guys as you told me. Thanks bro! I like using the backpack actually and lucky me I still have my old field backpack with me just need to scrub the dust a bit (not too much eh? LOL) and reattach the straps. besides the DLT-19 (mg34) or the T-21 rifles, what other weaponry that´s not an E-Web Cannon can be used for this unit? is there a missile launcher or something I can see pics of? LOL
  2. I spoke to Crazas (member of the spec ops det) and he told me that the HWT is not (but should be!) a TX and supposedly was allowed to be part of the FISD roster. I do think that any special units (heavy weapons sepecialists for example) should be handled by the TX det AND the detachment expert on the type of armor being worn... but am I to say anything! this thread means no intention of bringing an issue here. I just wanted to check on perceptions about equipment. that´s all. I´ll will check on the TX det anyway! and hopefully I´ll be able to log in the FISD soon. thanks again!
  3. Nice! I have to tell you guys... really! it does wonders regarding exausting heat from the bucket!! on the outside events I didn´t even need the fans on!
  4. I KNOW these units belong to the FISD but I´m having trouble login to the FISD and haven´t being able to find enough info on them as it is and I would like to know if my perception is right about the components. I´ve been hearing about HT for quite some time now as basically being a TK with TD equipment sans Field Backpack and dirty carrying heavy weponry. That being said, it would be a Trooper comprised of: TK hip boxes standard TK sniper plate TK button abs standard TK helmet stickers (striped) TD Pauldron TD leather Pouches Dirt in crevices and weapon/weather damage standard issue E-11 DLT-19/BFG Rifle (optional) No field Backpack. standard TK thermal det on the back of the belt any extra TD field equipment. Thanks guys! I apreciate the help!
  5. Very Nice... this will help me very much on the current I.M.P.S. veteran Heavy Trooper commander I´m working on. great job!
  6. holy crap!!!! is this somehow permited in the Legion?? if not... IT SHOULD BE! that IS the best mod I´ve seen so far on a TK/TD hands down!!!! gosh!!! Now I´ll have to do one!!! ****!
  7. HI all!!! just to answer the gentleman here... I haven´t seen anyone else do this mod.... but myself I´m gettin a new set of armor next week and the helmet possibly this weekend and I´m thinking about doing it again! this time on a MR ce helmet.... I´m still thinking about it. I still have the old field pack and the DLT-19 and the general TD parafernalia (except the pauldron wich I´m doing my own) but I´m still torn between a TD of a heavy trooper. I would love to have armor just like the one on the trailer of I.M.P.S.
  8. SWEET!!!! Thanks Ner Vod! I gotta get me one of those!
  9. I couldn´t see the final pull pics.... any of you have them that can share them with me? i´m really interested in this model!
  10. the three details i´m most expectant about are: the dome shape, the size of the chin filters and the grill mouth frown shape. these three details seem to be the hardest to get done correctly! i´m thrilled to hear about a new set...and so are quite a few of my costarican brothers that want to buy a tk set to enter the Legion.
  11. Of course!! I´ll send you copies of all that they are used on. the first things is a new banner for my outpost and one for my signature. I´ll do 3 to 4 for the MEPD detachment header also to see if they want to add the images or change the current one for the new ones, it´s up to them really.... I´ll put credits to Art Braksbuddy on the outpost thread for his photograpic work. Thanks a Lot!!!
  12. Steve I ran thru this batch of amazingly good pics! I wanted to ask permission to use some of them to create a few banner for the Detachment and one of My signature banners. Please say Yes!!! pleeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaassssseeeeeeee!!!!!!
  13. Me too.... i definetly want one! This is one of the best casts I´ve seen. great work!!!
  14. Welcome Home Drax!! That´s quite a colection of armor! Nice to hear someone going straight for the hardworking TDs If you might my friend, please take a few minutes to check my TK to TD work in progress in here. http://www.mepd.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3264 You Sound to be a pro in the costuming world so I would apreciate your review! Thanks in advance and see you in the dunes! Vode An
  15. Great Looking Trooper you got there man!!! Sweet looking Helmet!!!! Kudos on the work My friend and welcome to the Detachment Department!
  16. In Costa Rica what we do, since we are less than 50 members in the group, is that we let the security officers of any place we go about the group, what we do and how, we give a complete rundown of the equipment including gun replicas so that they don[t have problems with us. police Officers here in C.R. can be even more idiotic than the Dewback A'holes that arrested you man... in here they'll actually go into running thru your wallet and stripping you off your money. That's life with idiots with badges (no offence to you Steve, not all police are the same, i have that clear, there's a huge lot of you that have earned your badges with the heart!)... thinking they're Gods and doing what they please. Nice e-11 by the way man!! sorry you haven't got it back from the "Legal" thieves that took it from you!
  17. Ok. This is my first Field Backpack and weathering and modding of my TK to TD. I already did tye modding and weathering on the armor so I wanted to have the backpack reviewed before I paint the blue and mount it on the camelback. the thread for my sand t is here. http://www.mepd.net/forum/viewtopic.php?p=39516#39516 thanks in advance guys.
  18. Ok...I sat down last night to actually build the back pack. this is the final result of it. It still lacks the camel back, straps a the blue paint but that's minor details. let me know what you guys think. Note: I couldn't find the actual boxes used to do the body of the backpack but I think the ones I used are prettey neat! there's a first peek at the DLT-19 I'm building. I still need to sand it down, add details and work the cannon and bipod. Cheers!!
  19. I used a cutter knife. instead of using it in the usual way i basically moved it thru the plastic in a lever motion, very much like when you use and old fashioned can opener. I did cut the plastic using the stickers as reference and always cutting on the inside of the black border stripe and leaving a little gray. once opened up I proceeded to slowly remove the gray that was left leaving just the black border line. The difference in ventilation is overwhelming. I´m still to paint the pauldron white since mine came in gray with the armor and I have no idea why! As I understand it there´s no gray pauldrons right? anyway, i´ll just need to paint it white and put some dirt in it. I need to change the buttons on the mp40 holsters and I´m finishing the back pack this weekend too. I just need to mount everything on the camelback and attach the straps. Last night I worked for about 4 hours in my DLT-19 made from wood and pvc using the amazing tutorial found here: http://www.imperial-fleet.com/bbcforum/ ... c.php?t=90 the link to the tutorial that this dude used to build his Awesome DLT-19: http://empireprops.freeservers.com/mg34rifle.html and right above his pics of the gun there´s a link to download the patterns to cut the body and stock of the weapon as well as the hole drilling pattern for the two parts of the barrell. Mine is coming out pretty well and very soon I´ll have it ready for review. I just need to sand it down, add a few details and paint it. Will upload pics as soon as I have ´em!! cheers!
  20. Thanks or the correction my friend!! Exhaust it is! Thanks again Nico for the feedback. More than courage it´s a constant drive to improve what I already have. The helmet IS very hot to wear here in Costa Rica where the average is 22 centigrades (about 71 farenheit) (please excuse my english here) and not very windy so everything you do to actually improve ventilation is a MUST, even if it´s not screen accurate keep the feedback coming!
  21. Hello guys...a few of you have already seen some of the modifications I did on my A-FX armor to mod it from a TK to a TD. but just when i uploaded the helmet mod nobody answered again and I´m really interested in knowing what you think about the mod. specially on the helmet intake/outake vents ( grey trapezoid areas). You can check the thread in here. http://www.mepd.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3264 thanks again for the comments!
  22. OK guys! this is the pictures of the air intake/exhaust vents in the helmet. I took advantage of the fact that sandtroopers use no stripes on the grey trapezoid intake/exhaust areas in the helmet to actually cut them off completely and replace them with gray fine metallic mesh. that way the helmet will have 6 ventilation areas besides the mouth grill. I was pretty scared at first, and was definetly horrified when i saw the helmet full of black holes but then when i placed the mesh in place everything became clear and beautiful again! I think it came up pretty good...what do you guys think? this is a dark (sorry ofr that) pic of how I placed the mesh variant. Please let me know!
  23. amazing.... I´ll get in touch with him shortly. I´m definetely going for one. thanks for the info Brother. Vode An ner-vod.
  24. Well....you know the saying: "Chicks Dig Armor!" jajajajajajajajajaja. ah the beautiful truth! If Armors could talk!......
