I think I've made up my mind and it looks like TB-.443 will be going to Comic Con with me and my girlfriend on Friday fully suited up. If you see her give her a high-five and take a picture with her! I'll have my camera. This project is so much fun! My daughter and I are having a blast with this!! Guys if anything score some points with your wife and get your kids this armor and make sure you involve them in the building process! More to come!
  6. This poject I must say is really fun! Heres some more progress on our TB adventure: I might not be using the boots I originally planned on using. One of my bros on another forum is doing a prototype boot for my daughter with a holster attached and the price should be pretty good! So as of now Im recomending you hold off on boots until I get these prototypes in hand. His wife might be making her soft amor parts as well *crosses fingers* <!-- s:D --><!-- s:D --> So Ill keep everyone updated with those 2 and if everything is cool I'll let everyone know that he's the place to get boots and possibly soft armor. Your going to need this for the back of the costume. It is split wire loom. I picked it up in the Walmat automotive section for around $2: Your also going to need mesh for the ears and nose if you want you child to be a little bit more comfortable and accurate. This is the same mesh you would use for a fullsize TB helmet or stormtrooper helmet. I sell it, if you need some send me a PM, the cost is only $3.50 and that covers shipping and paypal fees. If you need some for you own helmet as well Ill thow in that too. To attach the armor your going to need white and black elastic and some half and half velco. I bought some at Joans Fabric. 2 yards of elastic and 1 of half anf half velcro. Half and half velcro is where one side is adhesive and the other side is usally sewn on. Heres the paint I used, I picked it up at the Walmart paint section for around $4. It worked really well. Its designed for plastic! 1 can should be more then enough. Im also using p100 (if that means anything to anyone) <!-- s:lol: --><!-- s:lol: --> sandpaper to smooth the edges. I just found some in my Dads garage. Heres the armor trimmed, sanded, and painted. I only used one coat and I think that will be fine. A dremel and sand paper will make the job quick and PAINLESS. I stabbed myself to the bone with the exacto knife <!-- s:lol: --><!-- s:lol: --> and the scissors are only good for cutting big sections out of the way. Ok.... This part stressed me out more then anything! The helmet! I was really intimitaded to do it! Then last night I said screw, ITS ON! With a dremel in hand and Peter Pan playing on the TV I went at it. Heres a sneak peak at my progress on it. I still have 1 more side to do, glue, attach pin to allow front to lift, paint, mesh, and visor. YIKES! <!-- s:o --><!-- s:o --> More to come guys! If your still debating on getting one of these, stop and get one! Its really a lot of fun!

  8. Hey guys and gals, so yesterday we went and saw Wall-E.... take your kids to see... take your significant other to see it! Its a great movie! Then we went hunting down for more pieces and deals! Heres what we found yesterday. I bought white elastic at Michaels, It was $1.49. Im gonna use it for her biker scout drop boxes: Now this was a deal! I went to Ross looking for her black longsleeve shirt, I was thinking turtleneck but I knew it would be too hot, so I figured a rash guard, well I just happened to find one in black that fit for only $7! This was lucky! Its a Volcom rash guard and has print on the outside but if you flip it inside out its all black! We go to the beach like once every other week since we live only 30-45 minutes away from it. So this was a extremely good buy in my eyes!: I also bought these on ebay this morning. My daughter wont wear cotton gloves, as I could get those for like a dollar at walmart. So I knew I would have to find like some thin black dress up gloves. I typed in black toddler gloves. There a little more then I would of like to spend but I didnt feel like I would of found them anywhere else: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... :IT&ih=007 More to come!
  9. Here's our latest progress: I bought her the pants she needed at Target on clearance for $4: This is right before painting: I figured since I sculpted it she should paint it : The finished product, its very light and now feels very sturdy, probably could use a little fine tuning later, but overall we both like it. And for a grand total of around $4 im not complaining : I'm just about finished trimming all her armor. Havent touched the helmet yet.... A little intimitaded to do it , the maker is coming out with detailed instructions on putting it together that should be ready any day now. More to come!
  10. Now if that isnt the aloha spirit I dont know what is!!!
  11. Hey guys I have an extra tupperware lid.... anyone need it? Just PM me your address and Ill mail it to you Monday.
  12. holy crap!!! You like you just charged through a flock of tusken raiders, crawled through there bantha's fecies then were a victim of a drive by! I like it. I would be interested in seeing the bucket! Some people might say its a bit much but ultimately its how you see yourself in the star wars world!
  13. This would be a cool pauldron for someone doing a breast cancer event or even for you lady troopers: iewItem">http://cgi.ebay.com/STORMTROOPER-FEMTRO ... dZViewItem
  14. Thanks guys! ya the sci-fire weapons are insane! every gun they make looks sinister! I think I should be able to paint it like monday or so. Last night I trimmed more parts out for her armor. I must admit im a little intimidated to do the helmet though. lol
  15. Now let me say i am no leonardo da vinci. I have never sculpted or really shaped anything in my life. But for your viewing pleasure: The LizzyFoam Scout Pistol what i used, along with a dremel and an exacto knife: what I shaped: Now i figured i would need a way to hold the paint and not make it look hole-e when i painted it. I though about cheese cloth but that had holes in it and wasnt free. So instead I did it pinata style and used a mixture of flour, water and newspaper. Please excuse the fly that dived in. The paper and flower did add a little weight but its still pretty light. Im pretty confident it will look ok with paint. My daughter thinks its rad so im ok there! More to come!
  16. awesome! we should start the mini 501st Garrison lol
