  1. How do you remove the old rivets? Where can you purchase new rivets? tandy leather
  2. Rats!! That's the pack I wanted to make
  3. I like it, you got it done fast We just need to cut the top shorter, and I think it will work
  4. Fast tracked?????????????????? that's funny THanks for getting me deployed guys. The OLG that are attending are marching the last weekend. June 9-11. We are staying at Music. I'm heading down next Wednesday
  5. Now HE speaks for the MEPD
  6. although, I don't know how they did it for $30, the battery boxes cost me $18 a piece
  7. My current one is like this and it's supposed to be ok, but I still not deployed (hmmm, might be on to something ) I think you have room for custom stuff, I've seen a lot of variation. Recently everyone's been on the movie packs, but I don't think it's a requirement. But in no way do I speak for the MEPD
  8. I would think the requirements are to make you stand out from the 501st TD's
  9. Speaking of uber accuracy, the glove thread had me thinking, what should be worn for gloves? I have heard rubber
  10. I'm thinking some of the cheaper ones are made for public sale and some might be real flight gloves. I got a pair of black ones and they are great, but they don't instill any confidence that they would do anything in or near a fire. That said, I know nothing about nomex, so mine could just be cotton/poly. This was done a while back with the East German boots. the were cheap but nice. Leather lined and stitched better. they sold like hotcakes and started to dry up. They started to appear again, unlined and looking brand new. A friend in germany said someone started producing them quickly for the "new" market for them.
  11. I do not think TK's should be wearing a pauldron. That said... I (IMO) believe there are only stormtroopers, one kind. They get issued different equipment as needed. The nature of the desert planets showed the need for an environment pack. Cold planets need different equipment. I do not think the "Snowtroopers" are sitting around the ship collecting dust or getting drunk waiting for an "icy" planet to be attacked or garrisoned. the same for the TD's, unless during the battle for Hoth they were chillin' watching the battle on TV. I think Lucas realized that the troopers running around on the deathstar would look silly wearing a pack ( and Pauldron) and would knock everyone over in the tight quarters. As a kid I remember thinking the orange pauldron was being worn because the trooper was directing traffic, much like the cops where I lived. Lastly, I think anyone who is a memeber of the 501st should post their opinion there, whether or not someone agrees with it. Just try to stay rational and not flame people
  12. They were the only parts I couldn't find, I'm just glad Scott had his stuff, even though his arms are a mile long. I couldn't bend them much more than the picture, and ended up with brusies . I also got teased all day for my re-issue pieces. Everything is now back in the box and ready for Disney
  13. nor does not wearing them change the MEPD rule
  14. the reason they don't have packs is because they get shot!! and one rolls forward (summersault)
  15. Instead of a patch, you could do something like this replace the cross with a cog
  16. I think there would need to be a leather wallet for the badge. could hold the challenge coin too. Don't need the badge when you're in armor
  17. the nice thing about the metamucil bottles Mike used, is the lid is glued in and the bottle can unscrew. Makes it easier to transport without the bottle sticking down
  18. I picked up some display tubes for baseball bats of eBay.
  19. I guess you never had a kid poke you in the eye
  20. Maybe they were afraid they have to pay out benefits if you retired, so they fired you
  21. From what I understand FX (which I have) is the bane of all that is holy in the Star Wars universe. TE is the exact opposite.
  22. I have seen people use shelf brackets but I can't find a picture of one
  23. I have trooped in Maryland and Florida, and had no problem with the heat. At least the glue had no trouble
  24. you can buy the stuff at Staples and make your own
