  1. Funny, my boss giving discipline to my other boss for not knowing what a Hyperfirm is... Buy a Hyperfirm or I will kill you!
  2. I have several weapons. I am not speaking words any longer about them though...
  3. First off, these are 5v - not 12v like a lot of trooper fan options. As a test, I attached one to a 9v battery... and man, it blew like a turbo-vibro-whining overthrusted blower. I bet if I let it run for more than a few seconds, the motor would have burned up. So, be sure to power it with a battery pack of 1.5v batteries, not to exceed 6v. My solution... I bought two of these fans, so I opted for a 4-pack battery holder (AA) from radio shack that has the same connector (2-point prong) as seen on a 9v battery. So, I get the 6v needed from this 4-pack. The 4-AAs seem to run the two fans at a slight over-voltage (1v only) AND they generate quite a bit of CFM (and without the nearly double over-voltage of the 9v). The cool thing is they are pretty quiet. I am not sure though, how long 4 AA batteries will run two 5v fans. Maybe I will do a test. Shoot, since I have an FX, I have room in there for 2 of these 4 battery holder packs... stay tuned on that. As for blower placement (and fresh intake air), I just need to figure out where to position the fans to get good air flow in my lid, and to point the blower-side to move air around my face and onto my lenses, to clear any fogging. Also guys, I will post the part number for the AA battery pack - it is really a good size, AND that 9v-styled connector is great! Also, I can add velcro to the flat side of the pack for easy repositioning after battery swapping. We shall see. OH, I also got one of those hearing aid thingies, you know the little box with ear buds AS SEEN ON TV so that you can hear better at... the movies, at church, and so on. Man, my helmet guts are going to look like a Radio Shack bomb! Later Guys! John The main thing is they are quieter. The generic pc fans tend to buzz. I got this link off the legion boards. I've never used them personally. http://www.allelectronics.com/cgi-bin/i ... OWER_.html
  4. Intersting. The snow troopers carried casted stunts? I did not know that. I learn something each day in these prop/costume forums. Just another option for guys to have.
  5. As with most things, you have to care about what you are doing. If you slap any prop or suit of armor together, it will look... well, slapped together. John
  6. Mike! I Like! When you are selling... I am buying - well, that is if I can afford it!
  7. Greetings and Felicitations! I am a member over at FISD, as well as a moderator at clonetroopers.net. I have been costuming for 5 years, and have been in the 501st since early 2005. So, I say hello everybody! As for my ANH trooper set-up, I have an F/X suit that I have worn it on two troops. It was quite easy to assemble, and behaves well (no parts have popped off!) But,I have decided to get dirty... fast! So, pardon my shine until I can get it under control. I have a black pauldron, and I carry a Cushman MG-34. I have tried to get Hyperfirm, but they are elusive. I am also on a quest for ammo pouches though hard to find as well since Marstar is out. The one other suit I have is a TC. This suit is nearly complete (i have had three other TCs prior). I plan to have this one, my last one, finalized as a 41st Elite Space Port trooper - white with pale grey bells and detailing. Well, send me a hello. And I will post progress pics of my TD... so I can get cleared for approval. Have a good night, and you stay classy San Diego! John, the old newb.
