  1. There are times when both a Sci-Fire Hyperfirm AND a Cushman would be good to own. This gun weighs 2 lbs., 14 oz. and it can be carried in luggage - good for travel and especially good for Rose Bowl Parade-type marches. Where as the Hyperfirm is great for local troops and appearances, and hero displays. (And travel if you have the right kind of luggage ) Though, I will use the Cushman for my display and trooping weapon since I put some work in it and it is a quite good looking option. Options are good. Many in this group have different needs, as well as budgets. Thanks for the feedback! John
  2. Here are better pics to view the new Cushman DLT-19. The barrel to upgrade your version one MGs with ($30 including bipod)... The gun, painted and detailed... This is just a new option available to those who are on a budget, who want a gun that can be carried in luggage, bounces when dropped, and weighs around 3 pounds once it is piped. I will have bigger pictures once I get mine. Hope you like it... I helped retool the barrel and this version is for this audience specifically. Later Brothers, John
  3. Presenting a new flavor of Orange... The DLT-19 by Cushman. It will work with version one guns, or with crafty cutting, it can swap the front 2/3ds of the V2 barrel. For V1 owners, the barrel and MG-34 bipod can be purchased for $30.00. The whole gun kit can be purchased for $80.00. http://www.cushmanpaintball.com/ReplicaMg34DLT.html
  4. Please PM me. I will PayPal you the price plus shipping plus $10.00 for the trouble of getting me some. I need size 11.5 (if they are only in full size, then go up to 12). My Austin Powers Cheapy ebay boots are lame, they make my feet hurt, and are just plain wrong! Thanks! John
  5. Actually, these boots "may" be more accurate than the Caboots since the boots used in ANH were painted ankle boots. Guys, confirm that. The paint sticks just fine, although I can imagine it'll start cracking in time. Keep in mind that this was a rush job, which I did just before a Halloween party. I still have to line the edges with a sharpie to get rid of the paint drip, but these images will give you an idea of how they look. I looked at the box, and they're actually called Skecher's "Traffic - Citation" boots.
  6. It will be legend. The beers will become filled with fear! Now, I have to hit my Bow-Flex!
  7. Welcome. Being a TD is fun and the "Old Boys" here are helpful, open to requests for help in regards to accuracy, and are pretty good at throwing newBs to the right of the bus... versus under the bus. With help, merely by asking... I went from this under-weathered, FX helmet (and suit) wearing TD (barely)... To an upgraded helmet, upgraded gun, a more weathered suit (thanks to Braks Tutorial and great tips from Daetrin and Seth - but still an FX) to look like this... I am not the thin 501st clone, I am the TD... obviously! I just have to drop another 20 pounds (Mike - TD-1536, Lord of the TDs, said something like "larger troopers like you..." in a message to me and I got sad, and now I am on a diet). But it is all good... every ten pounds I lose equals one more time per week in the sack with Mrs. Whitecommando!!! HAHAHA! Later NewB-rother John
  8. Nice tangent Mike! This is very close to what I have... Just need to get the primary Kitty trays coupled. Thanks for the tips. John Try it! I sculpted it three times and improved upon it each time, then a buddy of mine improved upon my sculpts by re-making it in MDF and cut styrene. We added custom fab knobs and toggle switches which are widely available and BAM! You got a great radio box. Check it... OK, thread back on topic...
  9. Wow! Crisp! Be sure to wear a respirator in a vent room to get the glass fibers cleared away... but very, very nice! John
  10. I could not resist. I think my next project will be a radio box for backpacks... if that is OK with you guys!
  11. I am scratch-building a prototype off of a CAD converted Lightwave file. Me and a friend will be offering a hollow, vac-formed option in a few weeks. Stay Tuned. Expect price to be under $19.99. It will be light as an air biscuit.
  12. Here is where you can order a de-milled MG... http://www.mg34.com/ You can order a Hyperfirm here... http://www.sci-fire.com/main.htm Ask for Nathan or Lewis. PM me, I know a guy that makes resin weapons that are pretty nice. Mainly for display though since they can be fragile, but they still look very nice. And the hollow Cushman can be ordered at... http://www.cushmanpaintball.com/replicamg34.html Scroll to the bottom of the page for the new Version 2 option. I have owned one, it is very nice. He is also coming out with a DLT-19 version of the MG-34... larger diameter barrel, cooling ribs, larger, totally accurate in appearance (but unfunctional) bipod. It will be a quick, turn-key DLT-19 for $75.00 plus shipping.
  13. I believe he got it from CostumeBase off ebay. They are out of Singapore.
  14. I so bet you could. I can't wait to see the NewB Butter Blaster!
  15. It is not a Hasbro. I built the new Cushman E-11 master mold.
  16. Do not feel bad. There is a DLT-19 option that will be available next week for MG-34 V1 Cushman owners. Stay tuned. I rebuilt a new barrel for Cushman that is made from 1.25" diameter pipe, it has integrated barrel fins... AND when you add the improved non-functional bipod, what you currently have will look quite a bit better with this new barrel swap. Pics by next weekend I hope.
  17. Send me a PM. I can refer you to a guy that sells styrene MG-34s like the one below, and he will ship outside the USA. It also splits for smaller package shipping. But remember, this is an apples and oranges type of weapon. Both the Sci-Fire AND Cushman V2 guns are pretty to see, both in pics and in person. They have different traits as far as durability (Sci-Fire is more solid and the Cushman bounces when dropped... that being said, if you are really rough with a Cushman, you can crush it - which I do not recommend for any prop), there are small quirks specific to their different style of fabrication (Cushman has a seam where the sides overlap and Sci-fire has a less pronounced seam where the moulds align), and price. But, there is an effort (at least I am trying to say) to make it clear that there are probably more potential customers for MG-34s that neither SciFire, Cushman, nor both combined could satisfy with their current level of production. So get what you can get whenever they are available... and what you want in options, and so forth. I await your PM. John
  18. Thanks! Here is one to make you cry (that is my baby girl, she is 6 now)...
  19. Yep, google "bakelight oxidizes" and you will find that there are several pages like so... http://bakelite-delight.com/gpage.html
  20. I had a few minutes to spare today, so I redid an image into one of those stupid motivational "Office Space" posters. Then I decided to do another one. I may make a series of 5-6. The ones in this page will fit your screen as wallpaper if you want to right click and save to you computer. Feel free to. Anyway, you know how they go... Motivation, Excellence, Team Work, and so on. Well, I made some for our groups of costume lovers, and some of the types of posters we might have, as troopers. Here is one for those of us who have wives we love, and who hate that part of us that makes us special... our ultimate geekiness, and obsession... And, here is one that is an overall statement of the bravery it takes to get into our outfits, and go out into public... More to follow. I hope you like them! Johnny
