  1. I liked what you did when you painted the stock black. Once you add the sandy powder-based weathering, it makes it seem more screen accurate. The strap looks very nice. Where did you get groove tube? I need some. Keep working!!! You will get there! Troop On Rolf! John
  2. Yep. Black is the color. Here is how I painted Paul's... Plus, you need to add the coiled wire and the side bar wires. Hope that helps! Later Brother! John
  3. Daetrin's (Paul H.'s)... Going out today. Just have to get a Biiiiiiiiiiig Box! Troop On! John
  4. Thanks to all... Rolf, Paul, and Dutchy! The gun was made entirely by Cushman from a real MG that was demilled, but he modded it to be more accurate AND to have the scopes. When they demilled it, they block cut the barrel at the connection point, which destroyed the 4-hole barrel, and soldered it together... BUT, he went and scratch-built a new section, cut the gun, and re-added the corrected piece back into place. Great job Cushman on this one! I just posted the pics... that said, he said he was sending me one, and it may arrive today! Let's hope! BFG's-R-Us is ready to sell to the Netherlands! Troop On! John
  5. Here is an assembled one with scopes... Pretty neat. I always thought this was an odd looking gun, but since I have become a sandtrooper costumer, I am starting to really dig it. I am getting one this week! Hmmmm... do I carry the T-21, or this, or do I carry the DLT-19? Good to have choices! Troop On Brothers! John
  6. The body is made of hard wood. The stocks are Walnut. As for the metalized wood, he shapes and sands it super smooth, then he somehow finishes it (priming/painting) to where there is no visible grain. The only way you could break it is hitting things with it... like baseballs. Minus the PVC and ringed pipe, the rest is all wood. This is a different thing entirely. He may start to use Cushman-formed tips, which I mentioned are formed off of a Woodchuck-made tip. Pretty nice looking in my opinion. John
  7. Thanks. I assisted him with schematics. I printed the Parts of Star Wars schematics out at full size and sent him my line drawings as well. He is a talented dude! Hard to believe that the rest of the receiver as well as the barrel tip is made of wood. He is a cool guy to boot. You can see the similarities between the Woodchuck and the Cushman... The woodchuck T-21s may start to have Cushman barrel tips since the lathing of wood, in volume, is the biggest challenge for Woodchuck. AND, the Cushman T-21 barrel tip is duplicated off of a Woodchuck-lathed part in the first place, so, they are working together on two projects. The T-21 guns for the MEPD and the DC-15 guns for the clones (Clone-Empire and CT.N). The Woodchuck is 4 pounds, the Cushman is just over 2 pounds. So, these will be great trooping weapons to boot. No more tired arms! Later Brothers, John
  8. There is a new T-21 available. It is offered by Woodchuck. It has Walnut butt stock and pistol grips. Here is the pic. Contact him either through me here on MEPD or directly on the http://www.clone-empire.com/forums – he goes by woodchuck there. I believe he is offering them for around $400.00 (check with him on shipping). The beauty is they are hand made and have finished Walnut wood up in them!!! They are similar to the Cushman in appearance – I tried to assist Woodchuck on schematics best I could AND because I built a similar prototype for Cushman. They (Cushman and Woodchuck) also may be cross-integrating parts for similar looking finalized designs. Just depends on your budget. So, two great sources for T-21 BFGs... in my opinion, though I am partial. Later Brothers. John
  9. That would be a cool domain name! Thanks Paul! As for the scope, I believe he is working on an option. And TK7036, all Cushman weapons have been upgraded. Also his forming equipment and methods. The MG-34 is duplicated off of a demilled weapon, not a scratch build any longer. Moving along... I have had more than one option to purchase 2nd hand (insert name of the bestest Star Wars prop gun maker ever in the history of mankind here - at least in the minds of many long timers) weapons and I have held them in my hand, and passed them by for three reasons... - I (like any member in this forum, or the clone forums) can get the same guns for about .20¢ on the dollar. No more that .40¢ on the dollar. - I like the weight of all of his weapons. 2-to-3 pounds for the big ones. - I can say "I need a _ _ _ _ _ gun." and it will be made and delivered usually under 10 days, even if he says they are out of stock. It is a new time for TDs and TCs as far as rifles and BFGs are concerned. If I want a heavier gun, I will choose a Woodchuck. He just sent me pics of his T-21 today. I assisted him with schematics and templates. He is an amazing artisan. Each prop is made with care, and is truly a piece of art. THAT IS WALNUT WOOD STOCKS AND PISTOL GRIPS!!! THAT IS INSANE! I will have one of each... a Cushman T-21, a Woodchuck T-21, a MG-15, a Version One MG-34 (with a DLT-19 upgraded barrel), an MG-34 Version Two. Since a lot of guys have asked about my E-11, I carry a MakerOfThings@aol.com resin job. It is THE most accurate E-11 I have ever held... besides own. And the $85.00 price is un-beatable. So, I finally started a gun rack in my garage since my office looks like a gun factory exploded! HAHAHA!!!! Troop On from BFGs-R-Us! John
  10. Well, here is another option. Hollow cooling barrel, formed off of a real De-milled weapon. Send me a hello if interested... available now. Later Brothers, John
  11. OK guys, here is the comparison of the Sci-Fire Lewis Gun, the Fox Flier Lewis Gun, the Cushman T-21 and the screen-seen T-21 for comparison. It includes pricing. I can only mention that Sci-Fire does not ship out of the U.S. – ask Rolf, he had to get a TD brother over here in the USA to send the one he recently got. The Cushman is shipped anywhere... and overseas is less expensive due to the weight being under 3 pounds. I do not know Fox Fliers policy. Here is the comparison photo. The Cushman is ready for assembly and includes some T-21 parts... I am partial to the Cushman due to how it looks, its ease of assembly, its price, AND since I put together the prototype from schematics, laser-cut parts and the tip was made of lathed hard wood, and assembled by me... for you, my TD brothers here at MEPD. So, what do you think? I think the Cushman looks very close to the screen-seen T-21. Later Brothers, John
  12. Yours is at my house... ready for assembly! You need to order a couple of parts. You need to get a rifle sling and a sling hoop for the butt stock. You can't tell in the pic... I painted the stock gloss black (it is not to be woody), the gun is satin black, the barrel tip has a flat black ring, and I misted it in Stainless steel spray paint, then misted it with an acrylic wash (Grey acrylic with wiper fluid), soot and red/brown rust self adhering powder, and a Silver Leaf pen for worn off looking blueing. I used silver tape for the ejection port. Call me Paul. I plan to finish your gun over the next 10 days, then ship. Yeah, had to. I'll TK for the MS Walk we're doing this weekend (not something I want to do in full MEPD kit), but will do crowd control for Emerald City Comic Con and will rock the dirt for that one, so wanted to ensure I'd get my Big Gun by then.
  13. Greatness. Only Daetrin had ordered up until now. I am still modding mine, but here is an iPhone photo of my Lewis, next to my DLT-19... I will provide links (and bigger and better pics once completed) to where I got my strapping, and the hoop, on my butt stock, for my sling.
  14. Maybe he was going "Special Edition"-style? What I love is his attack on the giant Gorlacian Breast Monster! So Brave!
  15. The T-21 (Lewis Gun, with several modifications) shall look like so. I have finalized all details I could deduce from the screen grabs... AND... BREAKING NEWS: Price Reduction. Plain Lewis Kit with Pipe – $95.00 (plus $11.50 for shipping in lower 48 states and APO). Lewis T-21 Kit with Pipe, corrugated pipe, and schematics for gas regulator, and coiled wire – $110.00 (plus $15.50 for shipping in lower 48 states and APO). E-mail roja2007@comcast.net for ordering information. A great option for the $100 price range and weighs 2 pounds and 2 ounces assembled. So light, a little girl can carry it (She is 7 and weighs 50 pounds)... Johnny
  16. Thanks Brother... I am just trying to get us on the same page visually, regardless of what flavor of Lewis people like. I updated the pic to show the comparison better, and point out the items bit-by-bit. By the way, I got your T-track! e-mail me and we can chit chat. And Rolf, I am always glad to help. This forum is my second most favorite of all forums (I am slightly partial to http://www.Clone-Empire.com) and people like you, Mike, Paul, and Seth have been so cool to me... and have shown me the way. Troop-On! John
  17. OK, this is how I am doing mine. Based on the screen caps – especially the front shot of the marching troops and the prop master shot – I photoshopped the necessary changes. Based on the pics, this is what I deduced... - There is a thick wire that moves forward from the ribbed section, drops down, then wraps up towards the barrel tip, just under the canvas strap. - There is a screwed or bolted on binder ring on the forward "ring" just aft of the ribbed section. - There is coiled wire, same stuff as on the E-11. That is what that loop is. - There is no 3rd binder ring on the barrel tip. On your gun, that is a "tell." Some Lewis Guns had it, most did not. - The sling is made of 2 rifle slings. Sewn, then rivited at the front, wrapped around the cylinder on the gas regulator. - There needs to be a hoop sling loop on the lower part of the butt stock, forward of the oil can bottom. - The screen-used Lewis Gun had an oil can. Many did not, since there were variants. I added it to mine in Photoshop... don't worry, I will add it in real life too. - The stock is black. You are going to have to paint that one to be True-to-Screen. So am I. Hope that helps. Good luck Rolf! John Thanks John, all ways good replys . I try to go to the plant/hard ware store asap. I´m on deep water on the belt. Lets try to clear this T-21 once for all here. Stay tuned
  18. I am painting mine black again! The rings are corrugated drain tubing. You should be able to find it where they sell plants and hard ware. What is the verdict on the ring count 12, 13, 14? I bought two M1 Garand straps in khaki and will sew together. $29.00 shipped. One is way too short. Mike? Any idea on exact length? Do you want to mandate a length? Rolf, hope that helps. John
  19. I concur! I now have to go back... and paint my stock black again and add an oil can cap. What are you going to do about the 3rd ring on the HF barrel? As for my strap, I am using 2 M1 Garand straps, sewing together, and adding a plate with rivets. I think they had to do something similar to make the strap for that scene. A M1 khacki strap is 41" inches fully extended... the gun is 50" inches long! My guess is 60"-70" long for the strap to dangle correctly. Rolf, I will send you pics of my strap next week. AND, I found a good source for the rear strap sling at the bottom of the butt stock. Troop on! John
  20. Well, based on Rocko's pics, the butt stock is black with an oil can. I will add that detail with a Coke bottle top. Here is the cool thing. So light, a child can hold it... HAHAHA!!! So, do you want wood stock or black stock? Look at Rocko's image... I appreciate the compliments! Also, I may ship mine to Atlanta, troop as a TD for a day, then sell it to anyone who wants it. I may sell my DC-15 too! I am traveling with a TD suit and helmet and pack and T-21, then a TC Phase One suit and Java helmet with a DC-15 rifle, my Commodore Decker suit and for fun, a red tunic. 4 getups! Thanks for your kind words Paul! John
  21. After looking at Rocko's pics, I am going to un-wood my wood. Here are some different angles... I ordered strap today, and I need to add the two small rings just forward of the corrugated tube, per the screen caps of Rocko (which needs to be replaced with the French Drain-type). I need to finish the trigger area, add the small two-screw plate that is a supplemental support for the stock (on both sides), and add the oil can to the butt stock. There may be a couple of things that are different than the other mass produced option, but I feel like we nailed the barrel tip. It is open and it does not have the extra center band... which is not present on the screen grab shown by Rocko! So, both options are imperfect... but nice nonetheless. It just depends on your budget. I am most proud of this project, and the price of... $115.00 for a kit is good for our population! Then I am done... I think.
  22. Check with Cushman on price for a built one. It is extra. I imagine similar to the MG-34. This is an easy gun to build though. I built mine in two sessions at 2 hours each. Four hours is not too bad. I need one more hour to make the stock wood tone. I will post pics of mine soon. I weathered slightly differently. I used a gun-metal paint pen, and smudged it after applying it, and in some spots, I tapped it for metallic chips and knicks. Then I used my soot and rust powder weathering kit. It looks as if it was on Tattooine. I just need some canvas strapping! And Dutchy, yes, right over to you on the other side of the pond. PM me for details. John
  23. 6'2" 250. And anyone who says "you would make a great Vader or Chewbacca" I will beat your ***. AND, I will do it in this armor... A Marine friend decided he would try to spar with me on Halloween while I wore armor. I let him have the first punch to my abdomen. He almost broke his hand. It ended in that one punch. Nice talk boys. I was nice to the 5'6" TK girl in my Garrison, and she weighed about 130-135... I was very nice! HAHAHA! John but he did have a lot of black showing... kinda goes without saying.
  24. PM me, and I will reply with the PayPal address and price. It is a kit, it requires a handful of items to assemble, and 3-5 hours of time. It requires light skills... if you have built a piece of bicep armor, this is about the same. Mine is done except for the strap and cutting and adding a gas valve stem and gluing it in place. Price is just above $100, and add some for paint, glue, sandpaper, and spend a couple of hours here, and a couple of hours there... and you will have a T-21 to troop with. Pics of mine tomorrow. I await your reply. John
