The place is called Miniature Locomotive Backshop. The link to the site is in the above "gothos.com" link.
  2. ****, I missed another holiday...

I went with a ROM FX board for the static burst, and it really works well. It comes from someone in the UK Garrison...I lost the contact name when my computer wigged a while back and I had to do a total system re-install. I also use the aerator mounted speakers, but I had to make a cord to plug into the amp board's 1/8" phono plug speaker jack.

    Hello

Welcome. 409's site is a gateway to all kinds of information on armor and prop-building. I spent a load of time there when I built my suit. Another site that may be of use to you is http://www.studiocreations.com Good luck.

I guess I got lucky...$35 bucks on Ebay. Good luck with your quest.
  6. Thanks for "troopin'" for real. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask.
  7. I've got some armor repairs to make, then I'll get some new pix shot. Hopefully it won't take long.
  8. When you say high rez...I'm assuming you mean more than 640X480? Whats best for your purposes?
  9. I haven't worn the armor that long, the longest was about 4 hours for the DVD release. I had no problems other than a wicked case of trooper tracks. Last year I walked roughly two miles in armor for a Cancer Walk...but that was sans backpack and BFG. The trick there was hydration...it also wasn't that hot outside. If you have helmet fans...use 'em. That probably helps too.

Did a DVD release event in Appleton WI, and been watching the DVD's. I'm fighting the urge to get Battlefront...just don't have the time to devote to becoming mediocre at another video game. Besides I'm working on a video project for my garrison that is taking a load of time as well.
  11. Dust off the memory banks and relay your most memorable stories here. Here's a great example:
  12. Roger that...someone should start up a "trooper stories" thread for stories like abn's.
  13. Crap...waited too long. Good luck with everything John.
  14. Notice how I didn't say sprint...I did manage to actually run for a short distance chasing some kid around last year. It was the old "you can't catch me" challenge. He was right...
  15. I'm looking for some sort of latching system where I can still open and close the two halves, but keep them from flapping around if I need to run/jog/move quickly. Any ideas?
  16. Very nice!! Did you permanently latch the upper halves together?
  17. Looks very good! It turns out I didn't need to shim it after-all. I just returned from a three hour "deployment" with a lot of walking and no troubles with pinching or anything.
  18. Very nice...I'm liking the diversity of all the packs around here. I'm also very impressed with the quality of them all. When I build my next one, I'm going to have a hard time deciding what ideas to rip off.

    Thats a beautiful thing.
  20. I hope not, it would mean I have multiple personalities...I have all four pauldrons.
  21. Joe, good luck with that full plate you've got, and thanks for all the hard work you've done in getting this off the ground.
