SethB6025
I built this to give the world of vaccuum forming and mould-making a try, and my first foray was a success. Check out some pics below, my not so glamorous rig, first pulls of a sandtrooper kneeplate, (not a recast!), and the finished product! Theo
Looks nice. If you plan on doing a run of them, keep me in mind. That'll be one of the first bits I'll be looking for when my armor arrives.
SethB6025
I need to get some more plastic, then I'll put out some kneeplates. Thanks for the feedback guys! I'm excited to do some more!
TD-4242
That is sweet. Always glad to see others doing the mold work needed. only thing I noticed was that your knee plate doesn't have the bottom spike to it. is the one that I do. Take a look in the for sale section for my latest ebay auction.
SethB6025
Yeah, I plan on mounting them to another piece of plastic, so that way the base can screw to the greave, and the vac-formed plate can glue to that. And if that doesn't work, I'll add another layer to my mould.
PNerves
Invention, my dear friends, is 93% perspiration, 6% electricity, 4% evaporation, and 2% butterscotch ripple... or something. Brilliant job.
TD-4242
I actually made a small mounting bracket to keep it sticking out a little ways so it wont get caught under the knee of the thigh section.
SethB6025
Cool mod! I had to angle my existing, non-vac-formed plate, because it kept getting caught and flying off. I'll probably do the same when I put one of the new ones on.

TD-1536
I need a garage. Not really. You would be surprised how much of a mess I make in my tiny one bedroom apartment.

Yeah... it's all about space management. I have a garage, but I can barely move in there.
