  1. Let me change the question a little - What made you decide on the BFG you did?
  2. What are the pros and cons of the different weapons? Obviously I'm asking more than just the individual appeal or look for each one. I'm considering several for my first BFG build but I can't settle on just one. Any thoughts would be very helpful.
  3. For basic approval you need any 2 pouches that you like, one on the left shoulder and one on the right hip. You shouldn't have any problem with the combination you've chosen.
  4. Go to 501st.com and find what Garrison you belong to based on where you live. There should be contact info there for your GML. From the pictures, it looks like you have been to a troop in your area. I'm sure one of the other troopers in the picture could help you get in touch with your GML. Also, check out the CRL on 501st.com. A backpack is not required for basic approval. As long as you meet the basic CRL requirements you'll pass just fine.
  5. If you aren't approved yet as a 501st member, I would check with your GML and get their opinion on the weathering. My GML was a little picky about the weathering and it took me 3 tries to get it to where she would approve it. I do think yours looks good though. You can always check out the weathering section here for more ideas if you aren't satisfied yet.
  6. I was recently approved and I don't have a pack. I've been too many troops now without it. For basic approval it's not necessary. I'm on the opposite side of you and I love the pack look. I'm researching them at the moment and hope to start making mine soon. What I would suggest is looking through the CRL and find what you need for basic approval. If that is what you like then build away!
  7. I agree, give it more time to wear in. And remember, people only want pictures with the front of you. As long as that looks great is what really matters.
  8. I'm loving the pictures here everybody, thanks for sharing!
  9. Awesome! I wish I had more Sandys in my area
  10. I think the biggest fix will be the helmet and getting one that is approvable
  11. If you head over to whitearmor.net and look in the getting started section there is a thread with different armor makers, how to contact them, etc. I have an AM kit and love it. Good luck!
  12. The shoulder pouch looks good. What specifically do you need help with on the strap?
