Hey guys,

My name is Austin Riffe. I am a 19 year old college student in Southern Ohio. When I was young, I always wanted to be a Sand Trooper. I have always thought they were the most badass of the Storm Trooper variants, plus I always find someway to incorporate the "These aren't the droids you're looking for" dialogue into everyday conversation. A few years ago, I discovered the 501st Legion, and I counted down the years until I could join. When I turned 18, I instantly went to their webpage and began researching the armor requirements. I had saved up enough money to buy one of the $1000 "Supreme Storm Trooper" costumes on the Internet. From their, I though I could easily convert this to a Sand Trooper. The more I researched, however, the more I came to realize that those costumes are frowned upon, and that most members build their armor themselves. I decided, rather than risk spending all that money for nothing, I would take pride in this venture and do the same thing. Almost a year later, I haven't made any progress. I need all the help I can get.

Much love,

Austin K. Riffe

Welcome aboard the Dirty Path Austin! Believe me it's a thrill ride going for TD like no other.

Rick has given you a correct lead in pointing out armor that won't cost you millions.

If this helps also good 'old Bluey gives out this link for everything you need in going Dirty:

Yes it's a great couple of links above. Armor in a nutshell is going to be a give and take with each one. Cost, accuracy, wait time and durability are all things you want to consider before you start. Figure out what is the MOST important and work from there.
