Hi guys,

I am putting together a TD armor right now using those "strip" version for glueing between each pieces.

So far it is easy enough for me since none of the pieces needed to be open up to put them on.

My only question is on the calf pieces. I know it need to open up at the back to put it on.

So how do you guys do it and still using the "strip"?

Any help or pics greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Az

I just recently assembled mine, using the AM kit. On the AM kit you only need to put a cover strip on the "front" of the shins, the back should have a pre-molded ridge that resembles a strip already. I overlap the back of the shins and use Velcro to hold it together.

I have the MC kit.

I did a butt-join on the front and put 2 strips - one on the inside and one on the outside - to make sure the joint is secure.

So....from my understand here, the back suppose to be an over-lap join?

Is there some pics out there where it shows that the back have strips?

No, the back is a butt join but there is a cover strip glued on one side. The outside. This creates the illusion when they are closed that there is a cover strip over the seam.

From my research, the strips on the leg (thigh and calf) should be 3/4" wide. So if we do a butt-join on the back side, each section will only have about 3/8". Will that be enough meat(space) to put the velcro?

I am so sorry for all this questions. Just very new to this butt-join thing ;)
