tk7713gra30
Hi all, I am in now a big mix, as I started collecting bits for my TD pack about 10 years ago, before I even joined this site. The only site I knew of was UK prop forum- a site I owe a lot too. I have just built my frame the eaxct measurements that Quatermaster provided I must say, as will be seen his measurement match a boyscout frame EXACTLY Smally has also been a great help. I had this frame that I bought at the time I started and abused a but as I had no direction at the time to angles etc. it was purchased at a 70s ruck sacy, i paid £20 with the sack, not used as of yet The original bend is well about 1/4 from bottom and I removed the bars. I will have to add the bend again at the correct position My question is do i stick with my PVC or my original My Crashman trays show scale As I did not know scales a did not know if it was the right size, a tribute to Qm as it is so close. Also ther were no trays available I must admit, I do like the fact that it is plastic knocking the back of my armour rather than metal, logevity was not an issue in the films As always my best wishes gra
pandatrooper
I say use the plastic one. I like the idea of metal frames, but unless you can modify to the same measurements as screen used then it will still be bigger, wrong size, etc. Depends on how much work you want to put into it. I say use the plastic one for now, get your pack built. You might troop in it for a year, and be bored one day and modify the metal one later to be more accurate. Then take the parts off the plastic one, and mount them on the modified metal one!

DirtyBoy
If you decide you can even swap out the elbows with the cold water version. it will give you the look of the boyscout frame with a seamless design..takes just a few mins to do but def not needed
