Looking better bro.

The ANH troops have weathering all over them, just like you have done it.

Just beware not to make it too yellow sand a like, the ANH ones was more dark brown/mud/oil a like:

The all fade out smooth weathering is nice, like you have done it.

But it might need a few more darker detail in it:

I think the mistake many makes, is where you have too heavy weathering areas on your suit.

And just beside the same area, a total clean white area.

Just like your old weathering hand plate job.

It makes the suits a bit too "rocky" a like in the look vs. the screen used.

A small thing might wanna look into.

Most of the sandtroopers have all most clean helmets, back packs, pauldrons.

It was mostly only the body armor, there got the weathering job back then.

As far as i know, the desert scene was the first one made.

Maybe the quick weathering job came off, when they later shot the road block scene.

Check it out, all most clean helmets, packs, pauldron:

The new weathering is on the hand plate on the left and the older darker weathering is on the right. What do you think?

Looking good Rob, bringing your hand plate a step closer to the natural desert weathered look.

Rolf, I was also wondering about this point. Since Sandtroopers are supposedly exposed to the elements of the Tatooine desert, shouldn't elements of desert sand yellow be evident on the weathered armor?

Actually it is quite interesting to note how "clean" this Sandtrooper helmet is, almost devoid of weathering!

Hi Peter.

I think they made the desert scene in tunisia, as the first of sandtrooper scene made for ANH.

Here you see two of them, all white before the weathering job:

Maybe the look sir droids was there first one ever, there got he´s weathering job on (there are a few more details in this job + dirty helmet):

Here you can see, they have all most hold the helmet clean:

There helmets, and pauldrons looks pretty clean:

The second shot, was the road block, also made in Tunisia.

I guess even more weathering was coming of in the transport of the suits, to make there second shot for ANH.

Looking at the helmets, pauldrons, back packs they looks pretty clean:

Third shot (all most clean helmets):

Later the last alley shots was made in the UK, even more weathering might have come off:

Peace out :)

Your welcome bro.

I´m sure, it will turn out great.

I guess, its impossible to replica a ANH sandy suit 100%.

But whit a few good ref pic, i guess we can come very close.
