Weathering paint job on Sci-fire MG-15/RT-97C.

Recommended Posts

Here you go :)

1. First i tape up the gun, for the silver job.

I paint the silver on a paper, and add terpentin

2. I also paint the red numbers on the drum:

1. I paint the gun grip wood, and silver.

2. The side scope whit black grips + silver screws.

3. Bigger scope, whit gold.

4. The start of the gun is bronze, not silver.

I did the same progress on the gold and bronze as the silver, whit the terpentin to face out the paint good on the gun.

Here you see the barrel scope.

1. Add gold on the start of it.

2. Then bronze.

3. The grip whit silver weathering job on.

4. Silver screws.

Drill out the barrel hole:

1. Paint it bronze.

Just a few close ups:

1. Weathering the drums whit silver, but also whit a bit of bronze/like many of the used ones looks like.

2. Paint the grip black on the big scope, silver screws, and the scope whit a gold ring.

That looks really nice Rolf, very realistic! Good work as usual! Only suggestion might be to weather the hose thingy (the one that looks like what you use to water plants in the garden except it is metal) because it stands a bit out! =)

Since the pictures, i have add a little more gold, in the start of the bronze barrel long slim scope.

And paint the gun grip a bit darker brown.

Cheers.

Thanks bro, i´m happy you like him :D .

I have all ready painted, the gun grip/handle of weapon a bit darker brown.

Plus the long barrel scope, need a bit more gold front and back.

I have add that on too.

I hope to get all suit up tomorrow, and take some pictures out side whit it.

I will make a new topic, whit the all done suit.

New:

Suit, pouches, back pack, weapon.

I used real ww2 MG-15 ref pictures from: www.google.com

The scopes ref pictures are from: www.sci-fire.com

I also used Braksbuddy´s mother gun, where it came from: www.looksirdroids.com

Cheers :)

Awesome paint work, Rolf! A+++++!

Thanks Tom.

It was sure the hardest, of the TD weapons to paint right i think.

The RT-97C have so many details on, vs. the other guns.

I´m also happy, how it turned out.

Heres a few of it in action.

Cheers bro :)

NICE! I scratch-built one and had a lot of fun painting it as well. Of course it wasn't as accurate as that hyperfirm but I had a lot of fun looking over tons of pics of the real thing. Yours looks fantastic!

Thanks Tom.

Sometimes the search, and build is the half of the fun in this hobby.

I think i remember you whit it (FX, orange pauldron whit a small round jedi... or something).

Cheers buddy :)

Wow, you have a good memory. Yeah, I remember that pic. Now I'm sporting a TM helmet with FX armor, but I'm thinking of trying RT-mod. I'm 6-3 so accurate armor's out, I'm afraid. But just wait till I finish my ANH Vader! Yeahhhhh!

Thanks bro, yeah i guess i´m a bit like the "rain man" when it comes to details

The TM is one of the best, great! upgrade.

6-3 sounds high, we only use the meter system here.

But i guess i´m around 6, aka 182 cm (very accurate high TD looking).

Can´t wait to see you all suit up in your new Mr. V asap :vader1:

Cheers bro :)
