TD-7620
Ok, I've just submitted my pictures to the GML. Hopefully, I'll have my TD designation soon. Here are the pics: http://i226.photobucket.com/albums/dd59 ... ete004.jpg http://i226.photobucket.com/albums/dd59 ... ete003.jpg http://i226.photobucket.com/albums/dd59 ... ete002.jpg http://i226.photobucket.com/albums/dd59 ... ete001.jpg http://i226.photobucket.com/albums/dd59 ... ete005.jpg So... Any feedback? BTW: Does anyone have any good advice concerning the pauldron, and head movement? My helmet seemed to get stuck when trying to look sideways... Caomhanach
BTW: Does anyone have any good advice concerning the pauldron, and head movement? My helmet seemed to get stuck when trying to look sideways... As I don't see a back pack, is your ammo pouch attached to the pauldron? I am asking as it 'appears' that the pauldron isn't sitting right and that the pouch is pulling it down on your left and up/back on your right, this might have it coming into contact with the helmet... A lot of people have their pouch on their pack strap and lower to stop it hitting the helmet, and the pauldron sits more flat on the shoulder... TD-7620
Yeah, no backpack yet, and it's attached to the pauldron. Still working on a different solution on the fastening.
freakengine
Yeah, it's definitely that ammo pouch that's kinking up your pauldron. IMHO you should wait and attach the pouch to your pack strap. If you don't have a pack yet, you wouldn't need to wear the shoulder ammo pouch anyway. The Docking Bay 94 look is sans shoulder pouch. cjfive
I have the turning problem with my helmet too. Mine is caused by 3 things... 1)I have no neck...okay not really its just very short 2)my chest and back were glued together, and where not originally fit to me so that causes what little neck space I had to disappear 3)with a FX helmet it is a little big...and to be able to see out the top of my head is touching the plastic top of the helmet with all 3 issues I can turn my head...and the helmet pretty much stays looking straight ahead. To alleviate these problems I am in the process of... 1)getting an RT helmet 2)going to cut the shoulder straps off, and use canvass to lower my chest and back plate down just a bit which will allow the pauldron to lay a little bit flatter giving me more room to play with. TD4128
Looking good The best way to stop the pauldron from moving, is to stick some velcro on your chest plate and another peice on the under side of your pauldron, this makes moving your head alot easyer, as your pauldron sits more flush to your armour! in the pictures your frown looks more of a gunmetel colour? is your helmet fiberglass? if so I have one thats the same, when I got mine I had to repaint the frown because it was painted gunmetal instead of grey humbrol # 5,
TD-7620
Yeah, it's gunmetal on the frown still. I'll probably paint that up pretty soon. Thanks for the good remarks! Still not entirely satisfied with the dirt, but I guess that's how the story goes on this forum?
TD-7620
Well, I can finally call myself a sandtrooper! Got the TD designation now, so now I'm going to start getting together the pieces for a backpack and BFG
Scootch
Congrats on the designation bro! Your armor looks good, I'm a little jealous! This is probably not the best way, but I hang my pouch with a black zip tie. Start off very loose then snug it until I like where the pouch is. Then I just cut the tie after the trooping is done. My two credits. Congrats again
