Rolf
Here you see my second Jodhpur boots. Last time i just clean then down whit the liquid to get the colour out from there, from the shoe dye box. Then i paint them, also the rubber band sides. They turn very stiff. This time i sand paper them down, to take the shiny layer off. And then shoe liquid them like last time, and paint them. It works perfectly. They don´t crack, and are not stiff. I also use a shoe dye pen, for fabric/rubber band so the rubber band don´t turn stiff like last time. Here you see the boot. Here you see: 1 the CA boot, 2 the Mark Cheng/first version from around year 2000, and last the Jodhpur boot. (they are all size 11)... troopermaster
Looking good there Rolf What grade sandpaper did you use and what type of dye for the leather? I have used spray dye and it does crack, but I never sanded the leather. I got some good stuff now for the leather (forgot the brand now) so I think I'm going to try sanding the boots first and then apply the dye. BTW, what liquid did you use to wipe the boots down with? I use a ruff P 100 gauge. I have trash the box, but i got some left in the bottle. So i google it. Here you see it: http://www.tarrago.com/castfl/frproda.htm Look under DYES under: Tintura autobrillante. This is what i use last time. In this kit you get the liquid, and the white shoe dye. I use the Liquid from last time on the second boot. The new kit was only the dye. I don´t remember the name of it, there was a bulldog on the cover. I will check it out and get back. But i think my last kit dye, is as good as the new dye i use. Its the same type of dye/paint. At last i use the white pen. Here you see him: http://www.melvo.de/melvo.com/index_en.html Look under WOLY under smooth leather... It works as a dream, get the shoe all white. And you can white, the black rubber band over too whit it. It dry real quick, and becomes matt. Then you take some cotton, and brush it. It then turn glossy/shiny in no time. Hope you can use the info bro . I got two more compare shots. Here is all 3 together . And Mr. J

They look really, really good...I sanded mine down also and will use ammoniac or another de-greasing agent and then start painting 'em up...again.. You can really see the difference between all the shoes and..the Mr.J. has taken the lead on this one
