TD-7620
Well, after attending my ever first trooping event this weekend (at Gothenburg, Sweden), and getting a LOT of fresh scuff marks and paint damages to my helmet/armor, I've decided to step up the pace to become a TD. I've gotten hold of the knee-plate and ab-plate already, and will be getting some ammo-pouches very soon.

TD-7620
Started to take of decals from my TK helmet; I'm considering leaving the black part of the decals on, and paint the grey on top of that. But, how the h..l do I fasten the sniper plate? I don't think it's suposed to be screwed into place (although it has screws on the back-side), but I can't figure it out... And, has anyone got any measurements as for how much I need to cut in the ab-plate, to make rooom for the flat piece?
TD-7620
Ok, now I've got a hole in the lower chest-plate. Still trimming it, so I get a snug fit for the replacement part. Knee plate replaced, not sure if I put it high enough, but we'll see... And added the canvas straps to upper torso. Started weathering the bucket now, I'll get some pics up later when I feel a bit more satisfied with it
erase
Can't wait to see the rest of the upgrade... Ok, now I've got a hole in the lower chest-plate. Daetrin
Yeah! Lets see some pix! Some people bolt the sniper plate on. I actually used velcro for the longest time (can you believe it?) and finally just did some ABS cement recently.
TD-7620
First pics are in!! So far, just the helmet. nico
I would perhaps have added a bit more dirt, but thats up to you! You should experiment with using a sponge and a bit watered down paint (if you are using acrylic paints), as you can get some interesting textures with that. Good luck with the rest of the armor, keep the pictures coming!
Rolf
Here you see some work, to compare whit . http://www.looksirdroids.com/replica_dirty_tutorial.htm http://www.looksirdroids.com/davin_replica.htm
TD-7620
Ok, this is what I've got so far... Does it look dirty enough yet? I don't feel like going over the top on the dirt. I'm more of a "less is more" kind of guy... http://i226.photobucket.com/albums/dd59 ... /TD002.jpg http://i226.photobucket.com/albums/dd59 ... /TD001.jpg Ultimate question: good enough to get my TD designation from the Legion? I know, no pauldron yet. But hopefully I'll have that one nailed too. And I've got 2 more pouches, but they're hung out to dry after spray paint...
