ANH dots.

I got a question about the dots in the belly/back.

I guess they are there to hold the two parts together, but what are they.

They don´t seems like screws, more like dots.

And looks like 1 dot up in the right side corner.

And 3 dots on the left side of the belly/back, of the armor.

What do you think/know about this.

Cheers gang.

If you invert the colour, you can see the dots clearer.

There are three dots on each side which look to be studs rather than rivets. You know the type, the ones that have to be hammered together, at least they look like that on this particular suit above. I couldn't possibly know if they were assembled the same.

So from this we can conclude that there are three seperate straps, canvas or elastic, I don't know but would guess elastic. If you have the Star Wars Holiday Special, what looks like three straps can be seen coming from the opposite side of the abdomin....very interesting.

For the other side with single large dot, it looks very much like the back side of a snap. In some HD pics you can actually see the hole. This suggests to me that there is at least one strap glued to the kidney plate and then snaps to the abdomin, closing the armour shell together in the same manner as the shoulder straps.

All speculation on my part, just saying it how I see it

I have been told these are split rivets. I have no way to confirm this, but when I saw them used on a set of armor, they looked really close.

Thanks Scott.

Maybe they are, never think of them split rivets ones.

Cheers
