In fact, practically it would be likely to have a larger medium mortar at Battalion level (81mm) as opposed to the 60mm at the company level. I kinda always thought they were anti-armor weapons like LAWs or RPGs and not mortars. And why would each trooper have one? Who came up with that anyway?
