Bee Stinger Research Thread

when you think about it, it does make sense for it to be more oblong/flattened. with the perfectly cylindrical ones we use they do tend to push away from the butt plate and if not pivoted somehow would be very annoying. this shaped bee stinger will hang better and not bang up against the butt so much.

I think it looks great. The caulk nozzle works very well.

I went thru the original cut of ANH recently to see the stingers in motion, since the stills can be extremely deceptive. In the move along scene, the trooper with the MG-15 walks from screen right to screen left and turns and it's very obvious that at least HIS stinger is oblong. In fact, I'd say it's even flatter that yours, but not by much.

You've won a convert. Great find!

I still say at least some stingers were mounted with small lighting yokes.

don't know if they all had the bracket.If you look at the pictures of the move along trooper by the speeder side view you can see his is unpainted metal.The white dial pack looks like it's braket is painted black.
