Muad'dib
All those who assembled their suits "strip-style", I have a question: Has anyone ever popped their ABS strips putting their shins on? Mine are only taped together right now for test-fitting but I have to bend my shins open a fair bit to get my calves in them after I put my boots on. I'm thinking of using a strip of thick white vinyl on the front of my calves instead of the ABS so they have some give. Do you think this is a good solution and will it look okay? TD-1536
Very normal issue. Add an additional strip inside for extra strength. ABS shins will flex more than HIPS, so if you have an AP kit and use enough Devcon, you may not have to worry about it.
Muad'dib
Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that it's an AP. I've only used the ABS cement (WELD-ON brand) that comes with the FX kit before. Is the Devcon something I should really have to upgrade to for this? Thanks Mike.
TD 8733
I concur with Mike. I have AP armor with strips and it does flex very well. I would also recommend trying this product. It is extremely strong and it dries very very quickly, 20 seconds.

troopermaster
I think you might run the risk of popping your shins with your boots on.I always put my boots on after I put my shins on so I don't have to put any real pressure on the strips.I have them double stripped tough, and have never had them,or any other part pop open........so far
