dawyer47
My WTF armor will be arriving Thursday! Pretty excited to get the construction started, but have a few questions regarding painting. 1) Besides the weathering, do people paint their white armor white or just leave it as it comes and weather? 2) Best way to get the look of the paint globs/runs on the helmet? Wook1138
If you are getting ABS, then no painting is needed. For the paint runs, I used ABS paste to simulate paint. Actual paint never matches the colour of the plastic exactly and the ABS paste is very durable, especially during the weathering process. Congrats on your new armour! Enjoy the build! Hausi
If you want to be "über-accurate", you should build the bucket, take it apart again, use some fine grit sandpaper to roughen up the surface, give it a coat of plastic primer and then about 2-3 coats of Ral 7034 (HDPE olive, the colour of the original ANH Sandtrooperlids) then add your paintdrips in Ral 9016 white and finally spraypaint the helmet white using Ral 9016, masking of the paint chips prior to painting. Wook1138's method works too of course, just depends on how much time and work you want to spend. No colour for the armor... except for the weathering
