Orar Tal'din
Hi every body. So a few years back I started building a storm trooper I did not get very far. I have decided I don't want clean armor. So I'm going TD instead. I've been very slowly plugging away at it. And I have all my armor parts roughly cut. Now is the time to start messruing and assembling. I have come across my first major question. My thigh armor is a little small. I was wondering if there is a maximum that the shim in the back can be? Also can it be in the shape of the gap shown? Airborne Trooper
SInce your thighs have the build in ridges on the rear, it won't look right doing shims. Look into AM2.0 thighs.
Orar Tal'din
Ok will do. So there is no way to salvage these?
dutchy
First of all, welcome to the dirty bunch of the Empire! As Airborne trooper stated going for AM replacements is the way to go. If you really want to take a shot at salvaging your current thighs it will seriously be a lot of work as you'll need to trim of the ridges and replace them with pieces that really need to be fixed properly and sturdy. All in all Airborne's option might be more expensive but a lot easier in the end plus that the result will be better. Good luck with you build and we're here to help!! Airborne Trooper
Please don't feel discouraged though. I had to buy different thighs too.
mikelbrierly
This thread on the FISD might have some more info for you - https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/38921-anovos-anh-thigh-shim-help/ It seems ABS slurry is an option with a couple layered strips like that dude ^ tried, but there was also talk that an extra large cover strip might be an easier option. I'm not sure about approval standards though on those two options. I'm sure they're workable
