Little Boots
It's time to begin my journey toward becoming a sandy. I'm excited to begin gathering everything needed to make the conversion! I'm shooting for The Cantina Sergeant and would like to apply for S.W.A.T. later on. So far I have most of what I need except for a new helmet, new belt canvas without the holster attached, and canvas straps for the shoulders. I've got the TD knee plate, and need to remove the ab buttons and drop boxes, after that it's on to weathering the armor! I began weathering the backpack last weekend. Here's some pics I took a while back before I weathered the pack. I wanted to see how it all came together before I decided to take the plunge. I like the way everything fits but would also like some input from you guys. A little background on the armor: -Helmet is T/MC (I will be getting a new T/MC helmet to use for the TD bucket) -Hard Armor is TE2 -Rubber Hand guards from Trooperbay -Hyperfirm DLT-19 -Pauldron from Trooperbay -Boots are painted jodhpur riding boots -Pouches are MP40 Wehrmacht replicas -Backpack built using parts from Trooperbay, Gordonator's cistern and custom built parts/frame. SCRIBBLER
@ Chris - A very promising start, Troop! Just a few mods / minor revisions and you'll be ready to be a proud representative of "The Precinct"!You are in good hands here in the forums and don't hesitate to ask for guidance or any kind of assistance with your TD project. Please be open to constructive criticism, it'll help get you to your goals as an officer and if you do decide to go SWAT later. We definitely want everyone to pass inspection! Also, feel free to contact our Deployment Officer (Brad. aka: SMALLY) anytime. He will keep you on the mark! Good luck and we'll see you soon! Strider
Hey Chris, welcome to the dirty side My suggestions would be to make the changes you've already envisaged and then ask for specific feedback re either PO or SWAT admittance. Good Luck, trooper!
Baron
Looking good and the changes you mentioned means you are on track. Aside from lifting your belt a bit, you will also need to replace the sniper knee plate as well. It looks like you are well on your way dude! Good luck, take your time and have fun!!! Little Boots
Got the helmet converted and weathered! I've also taken the ribbed shoulder straps off and sanded the glue off the chest plate, removed the ab dots from the ab plate and got the three replacement dots cut out and sanded. Got the holster and drop boxes off the belt, and finally removed the sniper knee plate from the shin! Just gotta glue the dots, add that TD sniper knee plate, and make some canvas shoulder straps then the rest of the armor will be ready to weather! Should have the conversion completed in time for All-Con!

Caomhanach
Congrats on being a TD..! Got a question to the leadership... The CRL for the Sergeant has 2 MP38 / MP40 pouches on the hips, but are showing the leather ones, not the canvas one's shown here... So the question is: I know that he mentioned SWAT eventually, are the pouches he has applicable or not to the CRL as they are MP40?
Little Boots
Congrats on being a TD..! Got a question to the leadership... The CRL for the Sergeant has 2 MP38 / MP40 pouches on the hips, but are showing the leather ones, not the canvas one's shown here... So the question is: I know that he mentioned SWAT eventually, are the pouches he has applicable or not to the CRL as they are MP40? Thanks everyone! I am still interested in SWAT later down the road and may shoot for Police Officer sometime this summer after our baby boy arrives! In the meantime, My first troop as an official TD of MEPD was non-other than escorting Brian Muir! I got a great response from those expecting my clean TK and instead showing up all nice and dirty. LOL Everyone I spoke to had nothing but great things to say about the kit, including Brian and Lindsay Muir, who also pointed out that my kit was a TE2 and that they haven't seen one in a while! It was by far one of the best experiences I've had in armor!
Little Boots
Slowly moving forward as we prepare to move into our new house. Doing TONS of research looking for anything regarding the cantina sergeant. Unfortunately, the search is limited to very few shadowy screen shots only showing the top of the belt and even fewer set photos. However, not all was in vain as I stumbled across a very dark obscure screen shot from a deleted scene of the troops stepping into the cantina. I found this on looksirdroids.com I believe during a search for details on Davin Felth. Ignore the arrow pointing at the backpack. Finally! A shot of the cantina sergeant showing his belt. While its poor quality, I would argue now that he has a small pouch on the left side of the belt instead of the larger mp 40 pouch in the CRLs. Interested in any of your thoughts on this too. I am saving up to get the leather pouches but since this discovery, should I just get the one leather pouch and a small pouch, or both?
