hairball2
Is velcro on the shins backside swat approved or must the be the hock with strap? When using the hock with strap there will be are large gap on the backside, is there a way to make this better.(i really dont like this gap)
Beren
Many of us have used velcro to connect the back of the shins in our SWAT submissions... If you just like the way the hook looks, you can make them nonfunctional. Velcro works great and is very forgiving if you plan to do any trooping. DirtyBoy
ya….most of the submissions were done with velcro.
Sandman Tigui
Besides Velcro is way more easy and friendly to manipulate vs hooks. Especially when doing 2-4 hrs trooping
Scootch
So true, SSJ troop this morning we were just discussing this very thing... Level 3 stats VS real world trooping. Glad to see more brothers agree on this one.

hairball2
any tips on how wide the vecro should be and where to place it. if its only on the coverstip my velcro is just 1 cm wide. ill guess this is the way to go:
iconoclasta_88
The alternative I went for is using a system similar than that with the hooks, but instead of hooks I used industrial strength Velcro. Elastic going in perpendicular from outer shin to inner one. Closing on the inside with Velcro. My shins close quiet tight as clam shells. But I add extra closure power with white gaffer around the ankles as in ANH. Very strong and functional. Saludos.
