drudge73
Hey guys first day off weather is better here in the desert and now gettin frustrated as I put on weight so thighs need to be redone... Well they needed to be redone a long time ago, anyhoo does the front shim to cover seal matter how big and does the same matter for back to cover? I originally had a piece of pleather to over lap and cover the back don't ask for pictures because that was an embarrassment for me. Now I'm redoin thigh to have back shim in back to connect underneath as these new thighs were built to cover my back leg. Meantime I look forward to replies and hope to get pics of before. Before I demolish new.

troopermaster
I have built thighs about the same size as yours and just added wide strips as you have done. I made the front 40-50mm wide and the back was a much bigger wedge like yours. You have to do whatever it takes to get the armour to fit you. drudge73
Ok awesome thank u for the advise I will move on forward there
murdock
You could always go seamless and make the strips normal size. If you put shims on both sides of the thighs and fill the seams in with bondo or I like to use "plastic sludge" you can pretty much make the halves bigger and get a cleaner look. With the plastic sludge you can even build up areas for the lips on the armor where the strips go. Once it is sanded and painted it will look like you never added shims in it. My calves got larger from running before I broke my leg and I used this method to expand the back of my calves so its wider but it doesn't look like there is a shim in it. Sorry if it seems confusing. I can try to find some samples of what I'm talking about if you need clarification.

murdock
It is a very simple process, just not to explain Good luck with the build! If you have issues with it passing just give a holler and I can show you what I was trying to explain.

netfrost
I'm running into the same problem, the only thing left is the thighs and oddly enough I don't have big thighs, or at least I didn't think I did... Can the costume be approved with these bigger cover strips?
